Dr. Diane Davis is joining our department from NASA, where she helped develop several innovative projects at Johnson Space Center. She has spent nearly 15 years working on history making programs like the Gateway Mission Design team and virtually navigating spacecraft to Mars at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
She will be using her experience to educate the first undergraduate students majoring in Space Engineering this fall.

Aggies are propelling Texas into a new era of space leadership fueled by bold investments and collaborative partnerships. This focus was on full display on the first day of the Texas Aerospace Symposium. Dr. Robert Bishop kicked it off with opening remarks by highlighting the new Space Engineering degree for undergraduate students starting in the fall, and the new Texas A&M Space Institute that will open in the fall. Thank you to everyone who made the first day so successful, and as our co-hosts at UT Aerospace Engineering & Engineering Mechanics say the sky is not the limit!

This past semester, senior students in the Texas A&M Architecture Department lead by Dr. Sora Key came together to tackle the "Enlivening of the HRBB" for their capstone project. Four teams imagined a different HRBB, complete with 3D models that are now on display on the second floor of the building for anyone who wants to take a peek.
Associate Professor of Aerospace Engineering Dr. Hartl encourages anyone to come see what is possible in the building.

"The next time you want to take a stroll away from your desk, challenge yourself to match the correct model with the correct set of drawings. As you do, take the time to consider how another group of seniors from another college altogether embraced and expressed their own combinations of creativity and technical expertise. And then dream about how we can take another step to turn these ideas into reality."

New Ph.D grad Maddie Haas has accomplished a lot in the last year. She was a contractor at NASA Johnson Space Center where she worked the night shift for the duration of the Artemis II mission where she monitored data from various environmental control and life support systems to prepare technical summaries for mission controllers.

A month later, she came back to campus to get hooded at her commencement ceremony. We're so proud of Dr. Haas and what she has achieved, proving Aggies are doing work that goes beyond Earth's atmosphere.

Incoming Aerospace doctoral student David Song has been awarded a Chancellor Fellowship, one of the university’s most prestigious graduate honors. This Fellowship is funded by the Chancellor of the Texas A&M University System and its purpose is to attract more of the nation’s top students to Texas A&M and team them with a National Academy of Engineering member and a rising star faculty member.
He joins us from the University of Maryland and will be supervised by professor Dr. Jean-Briac le Graverend. Congratulations David!
