NSSPI had an outstanding week at the INMM Annual Meeting, highlighting our commitment to advancing nuclear security, safeguards, and the next generation of professionals.

We kicked off the conference by co-organizing a course on the Operational Use of AI for Nuclear Materials Management. The course brought together 20 participants and more than 20 observers for a day of expert presentations, engaging discussions, and hands-on exercises exploring the practical application of AI in nuclear materials management.

On Monday, NSSPI Director Dr. Mansung Yim, along with Texas A&M INMM Student Chapter Past President Christine Mathew and current President John Corder, joined students, faculty, and workforce experts for a panel discussion on the role of student chapters in developing the next generation of nuclear nonproliferation professionals. The conversation highlighted both the opportunities and challenges of building strong student communities that support the future workforce.

Throughout the week, NSSPI students, researchers, and faculty shared their expertise by presenting papers, participating in panels, and contributing to discussions across a wide range of topics.

NSSPI graduate students recently took part in the 2026 Domestic Nuclear Facilities Experience, visiting nuclear facilities across New Mexico and Texas to see safeguards, security, verification, enrichment, and waste disposal in practice.

Congratulations to our NSSPI graduates!

This weekend, we celebrated three outstanding students as they reached an important milestone:

To reset your password, follow these steps:
- On the left-hand side of your screen, in the maroon bar, click on "Account".

- A new screen will appear. Locate and click the "Change Password" checkbox found under the "Time Zone:" section.
- Then, you will see three new fields appear on the screen. "Old Password:", "New Password:", and "Confirm Password:". Please fill out all three fields.
- After completing all three fields, click on the maroon "Update Settings" button. Your password has been changed.

Unfortunately, our NSSEP courses have been affected by the recent problems with Canvas/Instructure. Our IT team should be redirecting people away from our login screen. You should not try to log in until we have the all clear. If you have attempted to register for courses through TEES Edge yesterday or today, the connection between the registration system and the LMS has been severed to protect learner information. We will try to run a report when the LMS is back to normal and then we should be able to add people in manually. Thanks for your patience. This is a widespread event that is affecting many campuses across the country!

• See the NuScale Simulator at the Center for Advanced, Small, and Micro Reactors (CASMR)
• Enjoy lunch at the RELLIS Campus, included with registration

Interested to learn more about the National Nuclear Security Administration's Aerial Measuring System helicopters? Join Center for Nuclear Security Science and Policy Initiatives - NSSPI for a unique chance to see one of these aircraft up close and learn about their mission! A helicopter will be on the Polo Fields near Parking Lot 50 on Monday, April 27 from 2 to 4 p.m.

The helicopter that will be on campus is one of the NNSA’s two new AW139 aircraft, equipped with specialized radiation detection systems that support national security and public safety missions, including environmental measurement and emergency response operations across the country.
