Cole Monroe, from Hallsville, Texas, is the son of Jason and Tamara Monroe. Cole found his passion for the livestock industry through showing pigs. From showing at Texas Majors to competing at the national level, Cole’s involvement in the livestock industry has given him countless opportunities to travel, learn, and build relationships with people who share his passion for agriculture.

Cole attended Blinn College where he had the opportunity to compete on the livestock judging team. He then continued his education at Texas A&M where he is pursuing a degree in Agricultural Communications and Journalism. His time at both Blinn and Texas A&M have helped him grow both as a livestock evaluator and an individual, while creating memories and friendships that he will carry with him throughout his career.

When asked about one of his favorite memories, Cole recalls the late nights spent laughing with his friends. “My favorite memories are the late nights laughing with my friends!” Those moments, along with the experiences shared with his teammates, made his time at A&M especially memorable.

Wyatt Jackson, from Decatur, Arkansas, is a senior Poultry Science major and the son of Jeremy and Michelle Jackson. Wyatt grew up on his family’s Brangus seed stock and poultry operation. He then attended Connors State college where he was on the livestock judging team and received his Associate’s degree in Animal Science.

After graduation, Wyatt plans to either continue his education or move home to work on the family farm in Arkansas.

“Before coming to A&M, several people told me about the value of the Aggie network and they were incredibly right. Coming to A&M is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The friendships I’ve developed and skills I’ve gained while in College Station will carry me through the rest of my life”

Will Herd is from Bryan, Texas, and is the son of Larry and Cecilee Herd. He grew up on his family’s large-scale cow-calf operation, where his family also backgrounds and feeds cattle through the feedyard. From an early age, Will developed a passion for the livestock industry, exhibiting steers and heifers at all of the major Texas livestock shows and national shows. After high school, Will attended Texas A&M University, where he is pursuing a degree in Agricultural Economics with a minor in Agricultural Sales. During his time at Texas A&M, he became actively involved in Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity, serving as Recruitment Chairman and President, and is also a member of the Texas A&M Livestock Judging Team. Some of his accolades include 12 High individual at Griswold’s,5th High Individual at the Denver Carload Contest, 8th in Sheep and Goats at San Antonio, and 3rd Overall, Champion Sheep/Goats, Champion Placings, 6th Cattle, 10th Reasons at Houston.

After graduation, Will plans to work in the oil and gas industry before returning to the family ranch, where his long-term goal is to raise high-quality commercial Charolais bulls, show steers, and show heifers while continuing his family’s tradition in the livestock industry.

“Growing up in the College Station area as a third-generation Aggie, I never wanted to attend any other university. Texas A&M is a place where anyone can find where they belong, build lifelong friendships, and create opportunities that last beyond college. I will always be grateful for the friends I have made, along with my coaches, teammates, professors, and mentors who have helped shape me. My advice is to get involved in everything you can, meet new people, build relationships, and take advantage of every opportunity. Most importantly, leave an impact on the people and organizations that made your college experience special.”

Nolan Laminack is a senior Animal Science major from Wall, TX and the son of Noble and Heather Laminack. Nolan discovered his passion for judging in 3rd grade when he joined 4-H. After competing through 4-H and FFA all the way through his senior year of high school he decided to continue judging at South Plains College in Levelland, Tx. After attaining an Agricultural Communications Associate Degree he decided to further his education and continue judging livestock at the premier Animal Science school in the country. After graduation, Nolan plans on staying in school working towards a Masters degree.

“I will forever be grateful for the opportunities and connections that both Livestock Judging and Texas A&M have given me. My peers, God, as well as past and previous coaches have helped guide and lead me into the man I am today and will become. They have taught me how to make the right decisions not just on the floor but in life as well. I am truly blessed to have this opportunity”

Ben Isaacks is a senior Agribusiness major and the son of Steven and Alana Isaacks. Ben was raised in Waller, Texas, with his twin sister, Grace. Growing up, Ben spent much of his time helping on his family’s cattle ranch in Burton, Texas, where they raise registered Angus cattle. From a young age, Ben developed a passion for the cattle industry. Since junior high, he has been involved in showing cattle and competing on nationally qualifying livestock judging teams through 4-H and FFA. After high school, he attended Blinn College, where he earned his Associates Degree and competed on the Livestock Judging Team. Ben has spent his summers gaining experience in his areas of interest, including managing his own landscaping company, completing construction internships, and working in veterinary medicine. After graduation, Ben plans to pursue a career in construction with the goal of one day owning his own Ag/Construction business while continuing to improve and grow his family’s registered Angus operation.

“It really came as no surprise that I wanted to be an Aggie. I come from a family full of Aggies, so Texas A&M has always been a big part of my life. I’m extremely thankful to the Lord for the opportunity to be here today and for the path He has laid out for me. Looking back, I can see how He has guided me through great teammates, lifelong experiences, and opportunities that have brought me to where I am today. I’m grateful to continue the Aggie tradition my family started many years ago, and I’m thankful for the memories and friendships I’ve made along the way. I would not trade my time here at Texas A&M for anything.”

Cassidy Watts is a senior Animal Science major from Sugar Land, Texas and is the daughter of Alycia and Jeff Watts. In high school, she joined her school’s FFA chapter where she found a love for showing cattle. Throughout her time in FFA she got to be a part of the livestock judging state qualifying team. Cassidy has been at A&M all 4 years and has been able to get involved in many things across campus including the livestock judging team. Upon completion of college she plans to become an ag teacher helping students find their passion for agriculture and inspiring the future generations ahead.

“Being a 4th generation Aggie I always found a home at Texas A&M. The first meaningful impact A&M had on me was being able to have my grandfather who’s one the biggest Aggies I knew recognized in the CSTAT muster, where I learned how the Aggie family can show up for you in so many ways. While being at A&M I have been able to welcome hundreds of freshmen into Texas A&M and sharing the traditions and values we have to offer through being a fish camp counselor. I have found a sisterhood I can rely on through my sorority. I have learned how to balance work and school while gaining customer service experience at Rosenthal. I developed my passion for teaching while being a TA for the 111 lab taught at TAMU. Last but certainly not least I have enhanced my communication skills and confidence while on the livestock judging team. All these experiences have led me to the person I am today and remind me of why I love Texas A&M so much.”

Grace Real is a senior Animal Science and Agricultural Communications and Journalism major from Krum, Texas. Growing up, Grace was deeply involved in the swine industry and competed with 4-H and FFA from third grade on. She has a passion for people and meat! Upon graduation, Grace plans to attend Oklahoma State University to pursue a masters in meat science.

“Texas A&M has been an invaluable part of the last four years of my life. This university has given me lifelong friendships, taught me so much about livestock and about life, and helped me discover my passion for meat science—all while helping me grow into the person I am today. I can’t fully express how grateful I am for the incredible people who have poured into me, supported me, and given me countless opportunities to learn, grow, and experience new things. Texas A&M will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will forever be thankful for the memories, lessons, and relationships that have shaped these unforgettable four years.“
