On September 28, 2026, our Poultry Science Extension team traveled to the State Fair of Texas Broiler Show to assist with bird validation and callbacks. Beyond our responsibilities in the show ring, we always enjoy connecting with exhibitors and their families, encouraging youth, and supporting the hard work and dedication that goes into raising market broilers. We're proud to be part of a livestock project that provides valuable hands-on learning experiences for Texas youth!

This week, PEEP Ambassadors and Texas 4-H Poultry Ambassadors took poultry education into the community at the Gonzales County 4th Grade Ag Day and Marlin ISD Family STEM Night!

Through hands-on displays, conversations, and interactive learning, students and families explored poultry as an important agricultural commodity and learned how poultry makes its way from the farm to their plates. From understanding the difference between laying hens and broilers to discovering where our food comes from, these experiences help connect the next generation to agriculture.

We’re proud of our ambassadors for sharing their knowledge, sparking curiosity, and helping youth see the important role poultry plays in our everyday lives!

🌎🥚 Around the world, one egg dish at a time!

Eggs are enjoyed in countless ways across cultures and cuisines. From Mexico’s huevos rancheros to Japan’s tamagoyaki, Spain’s tortilla española and beyond, the humble egg can be transformed into dishes that are as diverse as the people who enjoy them.

For World Egg Day, we’re taking a culinary trip around the globe to explore some traditional egg dishes and the many ways eggs bring flavor, nutrition and versatility to the table. 🍳🌎
