What Abba has gotten out of ATC!!
Each role within ATC has pushed me to develop a different leadership aspect.
As a counselor, I learned how to work within a camp, build relationships with different personalities, and contribute to a team working toward the same goal of creating the best possible experience for our campers.
As a teamer, I was challenged to become more self-sufficient and set that standard and tone within camp. Your energy and attitude has a huge influence on those around you, especially when creating an environment for campers.
Finally, serving as a Campfire taught me what it means to be a selfless leader. My role was to provide support and guidance to the teamers behind the scenes, often in ways the rest of camp would never see. It taught me that leadership is just as important when no one is watching.
Ultimately, ATC has helped me become a more complete and balanced leader. But, it has also given me some of my best friends and an unwavering support system that has made my time at Texas A&M incredibly special.
Why ABBA believes you should apply to be involved this camp cycle!!
I believe every leadership role within ATC provides its own unique set of challenges, and overcoming them helps you become a more well-rounded leader.
More importantly, ATC gives you the opportunity to welcome transfer students into the Aggie family and show them what makes Texas A&M unlike any other university by embodying the Aggie Core Values. Finally, ATC introduces you to some of the most genuine, passionate, and red-ass Aggies at Texas A&M. It is definitely an opportunity and experience you do not want to miss out on!
