HOWDY EVENT FUN!

Yesterday was an incredible day at the Texas A&M Animal Science Howdy Event at the Louis Pearce Pavilion!

We had an amazing time connecting with students, families, faculty, and future animal science professionals while sharing what VSCP has to offer. From conversations at our booth to yard games, food, raffles, and plenty of opportunities to get connected, the energy was fantastic from start to finish!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by our booth, asked questions, grabbed information, and took the time to learn more about the opportunities available through our programs. ❤️

Events like this are what make it so exciting to be part of the Texas A&M Animal Science family — building relationships, creating opportunities, and connecting students with experiences that can help shape their futures. 🐄🐴🐔🐾

🤝 Connecting Across Texas A&M AgriLife! 🤝

Our team had the opportunity to participate in the Texas A&M AgriLife Share Fair, an event designed to connect new Extension professionals with the many programs, resources, and specialized teams available across AgriLife.

We were excited to welcome Jonathan Meadors, the newest Dallas County Extension team member, to our booth! Jonathan stopped by to connect with David Sessum, our Youth Program Manager, and learn more about the opportunities and resources available through our youth programs. 🐄🐴🐔🐾

These connections are exactly what the Share Fair is all about — building relationships, sharing resources, and helping new Extension agents discover the programs they can bring back to the communities they serve.

We're excited to have Jonathan on board and look forward to working together to expand opportunities for Dallas County youth! 🤝❤️

The 2026 Tri-State Fair & Rodeo Youth Contest is coming up, and we want to see the Veterinary Science Skillathon GROW!

If you have a student interested in veterinary medicine, animal science, livestock, or animal health, this is a GREAT opportunity to put their knowledge and skills to the test!

📚 Open to Intermediate & Senior 4-H and FFA members
🎓 Intermediate: 6th–8th Grade
🎓 Senior: 9th–12th Grade

💰 NEW THIS YEAR — $1,000 SCHOLARSHIP!
Senior students competing in the individual senior contests have the opportunity to compete for a $1,000 scholarship!

🐾 VET SCIENCE EXPLORERS — REGISTRATION IS STILL OPEN! 🐾

Interested in veterinary medicine, animal science, or working with animals? This is a great place to start! 🩺🐄🐑🐔

Join Dallas County 4-H Vet Science Explorers for three days of hands-on learning, animal experiences, and real-world activities designed as an introductory experience to veterinary science and animal care.

Whether your student is just beginning to explore the field or already has an interest in a future career with animals, this camp is an opportunity to learn, explore, ask questions, and gain practical experience in a fun, hands-on environment.
