Looking for a career that connects your skills to something bigger?

Advanced manufacturing and defense-related industries offer opportunities to work on technologies, systems and solutions that support national security, infrastructure, supply chains and economic resilience.

These fields need students from many backgrounds — engineering, technology, business, data, communications, logistics, cybersecurity and more.

If you are preparing to enter the workforce, now is the time to explore where your skills can make an impact.

Join us October 22 in Galveston, TX, for the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership-hosted Career Expo connecting attendees with leading employers across the manufacturing, defense and skilled trades sectors. Participants will have the opportunity to explore career pathways, network with hiring managers, and take part in on-site interviews.

Something powerful happens when hundreds of students who are working toward the same future come together.

Today, nearly 700 Texas A&M University Engineering Academies students gathered at Texas A&M for a Campus Engagement, bringing together students from across Texas for a day focused on connection, community and the Texas A&M experience.

These students are already on their engineering journeys.

They are studying. Building skills. Asking questions. Finding mentors. Discovering their interests. And beginning to understand the kind of impact they want to make through engineering.

This Campus Engagement gave them something just as important: a chance to see themselves as part of something bigger.

A larger engineering community. A larger University. A larger movement preparing the next generation of engineers to solve the challenges ahead.

Watching nearly 700 students move through campus together is a reminder of the scale of that mission. Every student represents a future engineer, innovator, problem-solver and leader.

And every student brings a story, a perspective and a potential contribution that can shape the future of engineering.

Today was a celebration of how far these students have already come and an exciting look at where they are going next.

The Engineering Academies community is growing, and the future is moving with it.

Our Texas A&M Engineering Academy students at South Texas College had a great time connecting with the Texas Department of Transportation during last week's industry visit! 🚧

From learning how engineering helps connect communities across Texas to seeing how their future careers can make a real difference, our students got a firsthand look at what it means to use engineering as a force for good!

These experiences remind us that engineering is more than what you build. It’s about the people, communities and opportunities you help connect along the way.

As a college student, your skills may apply to more industries than you realize.

Advanced manufacturing, defense innovation, engineering, supply chain, cybersecurity, logistics, and emerging technology all need early-career talent ready to solve real-world problems.

You do not have to have your entire career figured out. But now is the time to explore where your degree, skills, and interests can take you.

Look for opportunities to connect with employers, strengthen your resume, build technical and professional skills, and learn about high-demand career pathways.

Your next step could lead to a career that helps build the future.
