Last Friday, the College of Business had the pleasure of hosting the Front Range Information Systems Seminar (FRISS), a wonderful day of scholarship, conversation, and collaboration across the information systems community. The event was co-hosted by May Bantan and Thomas Cassidey, with opening remarks from Bri Newland and Gretchen Bliss, Director of Cybersecurity Programs, followed by an inspiring keynote from Dr. Viswanath Venkatesh.

Many thanks to our presenters, Ramiro Montealegre, Alfred Ortiz, Kai Larsen, On-Ook Oh, and to our panelists, Drs. Viswanath Venkatesh, Kellie Keeling, Xinran Wang, and Sandeep Suntwal, as well as our moderator, Jian “James” Ma, for sharing their insights and fostering engaging conversations throughout the seminar.

A special thanks to the Space ISAC at the National Cybersecurity Center for hosting our tour, led by Joel Francis. Attendees gained valuable insights into space cybersecurity and Space ISAC’s mission, capabilities, and role in supporting the broader space community, including visits to the Cybersecurity Visualization Lab (CVL) and the Watch Center.

Thank you to all our colleagues who joined us and to everyone who contributed to a day of meaningful dialogue, new connections, and shared learning.

Last Friday, the College of Business had the pleasure of hosting the Front Range Information Systems Seminar (FRISS), a wonderful day of scholarship, conversation, and collaboration across the information systems community. The UCCS College of Business is proud to announce the formation of the new Olympic Sport Research Lab! 🙌📣

The Olympic Sport Research Lab is a new initiative within the College of Business that will serve as a hub for Olympic sport research, student engagement, and community partnerships. The lab will create new opportunities for students, faculty, and regional sport organizations while supporting UCCS's growing presence within the international Olympic studies community.

The recognition builds on UCCS's unique position in Colorado Springs, known as Olympic City USA and home to the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee and dozens of national governing bodies for Olympic and Paralympic sports.
