Meet Emilia Calamari from Denver, Colorado! Here’s what Emilia has to say about joining Theta:

“Hi everyone! My name is Emilia and I’m from Denver. I am a rising junior majoring in Anthropology with a concentration in linguistics and a minor in Political Science on the pre-law track. I am a member of the CC women’s lacrosse team and Morgan’s Message, and temporarily served as Events Director for KAO in the spring.

I joined Theta last year and it is truly one of the best decisions I’ve made. As a sophomore, I was searching for a community outside of athletics of strong, smart, philanthropic, and motivated women. Being involved with CASA is deeply fulfilling and it was amazing to see so many members of campus involved in Kicks for Casa in the Spring. Theta has led me to some of my best friends and having amazing girls in my corner made me feel very supported when I went through recruitment last fall. It was so fun to participate in the various events and formals and I cannot wait to do it all again this year!”

Wondering why our members ? Meet senior Anya who joined Theta as a freshman and has since served as our Facility Director and Philanthropy Director.

“Hey guys! My name is Anya and I’m a rising senior majoring in Mathematical Economics and minoring in Journalism. I grew up in California and I love to constantly remind people of that fact. At CC I’m involved in student publications, CCSGA, and too many intramural sports. My proudest achievement from last year was being a member of the winning team in the Block 5 cardboard boat regatta. On weekends I love to snowboard or cook something unnecessarily elaborate, and my favorite thing ever is a road trip or a 4-6pm shift at the fitness center front desk 😉

Theta has been such a fulfilling part of my CC experience. Ever since joining freshman year, I’ve looked forward to Monday night chapter, sisterhood events, and service opportunities. My theta sisters are some of the friendliest faces to see around campus, and it’s through this organization that I’ve met and gotten to know some of my best friends with whom I’ve shared many block breaks, movie nights, and downtown dinners. My favorite Theta event is definitely Kicks for CASA and I cannot wait for my member class to finally get to compete in the tournament this year as seniors 😈  If you see me practicing my kickball kick, just know you’ve been warned.”

On June 23, 1972, Congress passed Title IX of the Education Amendments, which prohibited discrimination on the basis of s*x within educational programs or activities. In 1981, women’s athletic programs were set in accordance with the NCAA structure.

This week, we celebrate our members of Kappa Alpha Theta and Colorado College Tiger athletics. This year, our athletes’ accolades include multiple conference championships and NCAA tournament appearances. We are so proud of you all!

On May 2, we hosted our annual Kicks for CASA kickball tournament. With over 215 participants, we had a full day of kickball with food and plenty of sunshine.

Congratulations to Scott’s Totts for clinching the 2026 title after an undefeated day, and thank you to our Kicks Committee, advisors, , and for making Kicks possible! 🎟️🎡⚽️🏆
