KDs OVERSEAS! 🌍
Our sister Emerson Chaloux recently traveled to China for the China Open program, and we couldn’t be prouder! We love seeing our sisters embrace new opportunities and shine around the world!
Emerson:
For three weeks I got the opportunity to go to Beijing, China with the Missouri School of Journalism as a part of the China Open Program. This experiential program allows students to work as volunteers at the major Asian tennis tournament, serving as journalists for the English version of the China Open website. Before heading across the world, I took an upper level journalism course that covered the basics needed to work at the tournament, as well as an introduction to Chinese culture. During my time in Beijing, I was doing strategic communications work for the professional tennis tournament, including a lot of social media for the tournament’s accounts. I’m so thankful for the group of students I was in China with because in our free time we explored throughout the city. We tried lots of new foods, visited historic temples and palaces, watched a lot of tennis, and climbed to the top of the Great Wall!
