Last week, we welcomed high school students from across the state to our first Exploring Agricultural Communications and Leadership Opportunities day! Students received a crash course in digital media production, gathered content, learned to work as an effective team, networked with industry experts and program faculty, and ended the day by producing a video about their experience. We were so impressed with their hard work and creativity!

We were thrilled to welcome FFA members to the MO Teach Ag Academy last week! Throughout the program, students gained insight into agricultural education in Missouri, learned about the Agricultural Education & Leadership program at Mizzou, networked with industry leaders, and worked together to create innovative lesson plans centered on agribusiness management topics that sparked their interest. It was exciting to see their creativity, collaboration, and passion for the future of agriculture and education!

Let's celebrate! Dr. Jen Russell has successfully defended her dissertation to earn her Ph.D. Dr. Russell's dissertation examined how veteran agriculture teachers employ job crafting in their schools and communities. Jen serves as the Managing Director of Chapter and Member Programming for the Wisconsin Association of FFA Center. Her advisor was John Tummons. Congratulations!

Join us in congratulating Kelsey Miller, rising senior in the communications track, on her success in the National Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow Critique and Contest!
Each year, students can submit their work in a variety of communications categories to be judged and receive feedback from industry professionals.

Kelsey received 1st place in News Stories, 2nd place in Short Feature Stories, 3rd place in Black and White Photography, 1st place in Photo Series, and 1st place in Audio Advertisements.

Mizzou Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow was also recognized as one of the top five submitting universities, with 35 individual works submitted!

The awards were announced at Ag Media Summit in St. Louis, where Kelsey and other students and professionals from across the country will spend the next two days networking and learning.
