If you've seen SCETV's "Savers of Flavor," you've watched David Shields, USC English professor, and chef Kevin Mitchell travel the South in search of nearly forgotten foods.

But you should meet the USC graduate behind the camera.

Ginger Cassell, who earned her media arts degree in the School of Visual Art and Design, has long wanted to do a show about culinary traditions. She pitched the idea after reading a "Taste the State," a top-selling book from USC Press by Shields and Mitchell.
