Last week, SSS had a wonderful time exploring Montgomery, Alabama, during fall break!
Our students and staff enjoyed a variety of educational and cultural experiences throughout the city. We visited important Civil Rights landmarks, learned about the site where Rosa Parks’ arrest helped spark the Montgomery Bus Boycott, and explored the history of the Freedom Riders and their courageous fight against segregation. From visiting the Legacy Sites and taking a ride along the Alabama River to touring Alabama State University, enjoying a historical bus tour, and exploring the Museum of Alabama, our trip was filled with opportunities to learn, reflect, and connect with the past.
Experiences like these remind us of the importance of understanding our history and the individuals who helped shape our nation. We are grateful for the opportunity to provide our students with meaningful educational and cultural experiences beyond the classroom!
