The researchers coming out of CIC aren't just studying their fields. They're preparing to lead them. 🤍

Raphael Ebiefung, a PhD Researcher in Digital Information Literacy at USC, wrapped up the spring semester with two significant credentials: the Preparing Future Faculty certificate, a nationally recognized award for doctoral students on track to become impactful faculty members, and the Sharpgrad Certificate, earned through a series of research skills workshops hosted by USC Libraries.

This is what the next generation of academic leadership looks like.

The Carolina Agency is a student-run public relations firm housed within the College of Information and Communications, and this fall it's welcoming new members like Reid Williams to its Accounts team. Students work with an actual client portfolio, develop campaigns and build the kind of hands-on experience that sets them apart before graduation.

Congratulations to Tyler Perrone on receiving both the SCBA and URAY scholarships for the 2026–2027 academic year!

Tyler is currently pursuing his Master of Mass Communication after recently earning his B.A.J.M.C. in broadcast journalism with a concentration in sports media.

In addition to his studies, Tyler serves as a TV production intern at WLTX 19 in Columbia and works in the broadcast booth for the Columbia Fireflies baseball team. After graduation, he hopes to pursue a career as a live TV or sports producer.

We’re proud to celebrate Tyler’s accomplishments and excited to see what’s ahead!

Leadership isn't just a line on a resume.

At CIC, it's something students build in real time.

Erin Armani, a public relations and business senior, served as President of Zeta Phi Eta Beta Mu and spent her tenure transforming it into one of the most recognized organizations in the CIC community. Membership nearly doubled. Applications hit an all-time high. New systems, new structures and a stronger chapter culture followed.
