Introducing our next team member, Morganne Ledbetter!

Morganne was born and raised in Richland, Mo on a cow-calf operation that utilizes AI and ET in show cattle with her parents and older sister. She grew up showing cattle across the state and country. Before attending Mizzou, Morganne graduated from State Technical College with a degree in Agribusiness.

Outside of the livestock judging team, she was an active member of Mizzou Block and Bridle, interned for the American Angus Association, and traveled the state fitting and clipping cattle. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her best friend, Ben, riding horses, traveling to livestock shows, and spending time with family.

Morganne graduated this May with her degree in Agriculture with emphasis areas in Animal Science, Ag Business, and Plant Science. She is currently working for FCS Financial in the Ag & Rural Lending department, while also starting her own cattle reproduction program.

“Being a part of this team has truly shaped me into the person I am today. This season has challenged me, encouraged me, and helped me grow in ways I never expected. I’m so grateful for the incredible connections I’ve made and the friendships that will last far beyond this season. I couldn’t have asked for better teammates or a more supportive coach. What started as a team quickly became a second family; giving me memories and experiences I’ll cherish forever. I’m beyond excited to travel and cheer on my teammates every step of the way.”

Continuing on with our team member highlights!

Katrina is from Paris, Missouri and grew up on her family’s cow-calf operation where they raise Charolais cattle. Her parents are Russ & Sally Thomas and Lynn Summers. Prior to attending Mizzou, she was very involved in clubs and organizations in high school and showed goats, pigs, cattle, and even rabbits!

Apart from being a member of the livestock judging team, she is a member of the Sigma Alpha - Alpha Chi professional agriculture sorority. Additionally, she is serving as the President of Mizzou Collegiate CattleWomen and also works at Fringe Western Wear. In her free time, she enjoys heading back home to spend time with her family and dogs, Martin and Murphy. Katrina is always down for a concert or an evening spent with friends.

This coming spring, Katrina will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness Management. After that, she intends to work in agricultural sales or finance, and do some traveling before settling down back home. She also hopes to get a master’s degree in the future.

When asked about her time on the team, Katrina said, “I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Mizzou Livestock Judging Team. My favorite part, besides traveling and seeing different parts of the country, is all the connections we have had the opportunity to make with producers and other industry professionals. Additionally, our team has become very close through 14-hour long van rides, late night card games, and all the other memories and jokes that we have made along the way.”

The team is back home after their first outing for the fall season. Though the weather was not on our side for a majority of this trip, we made the most of it. Lots of learning moments and looking forward to our next two contests. A big thank you to K&B Genetics for allowing us to stop by for a workout.

Next up on our team member highlight is Cody Koenigsfeld!

Cody grew up in central Missouri in the small rural town of Frankenstein on a Purebred Angus Seedstock operation with his parents, 3 brothers, and sister. He spent his time farming, showing cattle, hunting, playing soccer, and enjoying other outdoor activities.

Outside of the livestock judging team, Cody is a passionate cattle farmer. Most of the time, you will find him working cattle for many ranchers in the area, and performing artificial insemination on his family farm, as well as for others in the area. He also works as a veterinary technician at Osage Veterinary Clinic, where he assists with cattle and companion animals. In his free time, he enjoys hunting deer, turkey, and elk.

After graduation, Cody will attend the University of Missouri School of Veterinary Medicine. His goal is to graduate from veterinary school and become a mixed-species veterinarian, with an emphasis on helping local cow-calf producers improve their herds and run more productive operations.

“Being on the team this past year has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I have been able to see many high-level cattle operations that consistently produce quality cattle; all with different styles of management, ultimately showing me more aspects of the American Cattle and agriculture industry. I have also been able to meet amazing people, from the livestock judges, producers, and my fellow team members who never seem to have a dull moment. I believe I’ll cherish these connections for the rest of my life. Ultimately, I hope being on the livestock judging team will allow me to judge livestock in the future and help shape future individuals in the agriculture industry.”

As the 2026 team heads into their fall competition season, we wanted to highlight the wonderful members that make up this team. Each week we will highlight one member and give you a deeper look into who each of them are. First up we have Kali Hall!

Kali grew up in central Illinois on a horse ranch with her parents and older brother. Since coming to Mizzou, she has gained two adopted little sisters who have become a very special part of her life.

Outside of the livestock team, she is the proud dog mom to the most precious Mini Aussie, Barkley Jo. She also works at The Kitchen Grill & Games and Park Restaurant. In her free time, she enjoys attending reformer pilaties, horse races, Mizzou athletic events, concerts, and traveling with her best friend.

After graduation, Kali will be moving to Chesterfield, Mo to attend Logan University and enter the College of Chiropractic. Her goal is to become a chiropractor who works with both people and performance horses; combining her passion for health and wellness with her love of horses.

When asked about being on the livestock judging team, Kali said “Being a member of the livestock judging team has been one of my favorite experiences throughout college. The members of this team are so much fun and bring such positive energy to every practice and competition. The time we spend together is always memorable and never fails to be a good time. Over the past year, they have all become people I consider family and I am incredibly grateful that livestock judging brought us together. I will always cherish the memories, friendships, and experiences I have gained from being a part of this team.”
