🩵💕 Today, October 15, Delta Theta Chapter recognizes National Latinx HIV/AIDS Awareness Day by encouraging education, compassion, and HIV testing. Knowing your status is an important step toward caring for yourself and your partners—testing is the only way to know if you have HIV. An early diagnosis connects you with treatment that can help you live a long, healthy life, while a negative result opens the conversation about prevention options, including PrEP. This day highlights the needs of Hispanic and Latino communities while reminding us that people of every culture deserve access to care, respect, and support. 💗 In recognition of Global Lobular Breast Cancer Awareness Day, Delta Theta Chapter is shining a light on invasive lobular carcinoma, a breast cancer that begins in the milk-producing glands, called lobules, and grows into surrounding breast tissue. This cancer may grow without forming a distinct lump, making it harder to feel or detect on a mammogram. Signs can include breast thickening, fullness, dimpling, or changes in the ni**le or breast shape. Know what is normal for your body, discuss screening with your healthcare provider, and report new changes—even after a normal mammogram. We stand beside everyone facing this diagnosis, celebrate survivors, and lovingly remember those we have lost. Your journey matters, your concerns deserve to be heard, and you are never alone. 💗

Breast cancer comes in several forms, depending on where it begins and the features of its cells. Invasive ductal carcinoma, the most common type, starts in the milk ducts and grows into surrounding breast tissue, while invasive lobular carcinoma begins in the milk-producing glands.

Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), often called stage 0 breast cancer, involves abnormal cells that remain inside the milk ducts. Less common forms include inflammatory breast cancer, which can cause swelling, redness, and skin changes, and Paget disease of the breast, which affects the ni**le and ar**la. Breast cancers are also classified as hormone receptor-positive, HER2-positive, or triple-negative, based on features that help doctors choose treatment. These classifications can overlap—for example, a ductal cancer can also be HER2-positive. Understanding the diagnosis helps each person receive care tailored to their needs. 💗💕💕

Give yourself grace on the difficult days, and know that you deserve patience, love, and support. Let’s listen without dismissing, offer help without criticism, and remind those facing cancer that they do not have to walk this journey alone. We see you, we honor your strength, and we stand beside you. 💕💕

Today, the ladies of Delta Theta Chapter teamed up with Beta Epsilon Chapter to “Stomp Out Hunger” in Columbia, SC! Together, we prepared 100 plates, along with drinks, to share with those in need. Each plate was made with love as we caught up, shared plenty of laughs, and worked together with purpose! 🩵🩷🖤🦢

It’s always a pleasure when we come together to serve. We’re making moves, strengthening our bond, and giving back to our communities! We look forward to more opportunities to join hands and make a difference together.

We aren’t just sisters—we are a sisterhood!
