"Working with US Conec has been extremely rewarding and enriching as I’m learning how to work with and expand automated systems. One of my favorite projects over the summer involved designing, building, wiring, and programming an automation system and then working to upgrade existing systems." Will Shealy, Automation Engineering Intern at US Conec, Mechanical Engineering, Class of 2027

"In my internship, I gained practical exposure to credit environments and loan processing. I found deep fulfillment in knowing that my work directly supported the farmers and rural communities we serve. I enjoyed the hands-on exposure to credit processing and risk assessment, but what stood out most was the mentorship I received. My mentor helped me connect each analysis to the bigger picture, which clarified my goal of becoming a credit analyst and made the work feel deeply meaningful." Rebekah Appanah, Credit Information & Servicing Intern at AgFirst Farm Credit Bank, Operations & Supply Chain/Finance, Class of 2027

"I spent the summer as an intern with the Executive Office of the President, serving in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. I supported the development and coordination of trade policy for the division of Europe and the Middle East. I most enjoyed gaining an inside perspective on how international trade supports diplomatic ties and safeguards American national security." Kemari Hatchett,
Trade Policy Student Intern in Executive Office of the President,

"The most rewarding part of my internship has been earning the trust
to contribute to meaningful projects that improve and automate business processes. It reinforced my passion for using technology to solve real-world challenges and create lasting impact. As an IT graduate student, it’s been rewarding to apply what I’ve learned in the classroom to solutions that create real value. The commitment to innovation and continuous improvement challenged me to grow both technically and professionally while reinforcing my passion for using technology to solve real-world problems." Issac Yeboah, Information Systems Business Analyst Intern at S.C. Dept. of Education, M.S. Information Technology, Class of 2027

"This internship connected my training to a deeply personal purpose. After losing my three-year-old niece to an undiagnosed congenital heart defect, I became committed to improving maternal and child health. Working with the SC Birth Defects Program has shown me how early detection, high-quality surveillance, and data-driven decision-making can improve outcomes for children and families. I have enjoyed working in a collaborative and supportive environment where experienced epidemiologists have invested in my growth through mentorship and hands-on learning." Carmel Kandhe, Birth Defects Program Intern at S.C. Dept. of Public Health, M.P.H. Epidemiology, Class of 2027

"My internship gave me the opportunity to apply power-system modeling concepts to a real-world research environment. Through this experience, I strengthened my skills in power-system simulation, model development, scenario-based analysis, and distribution-system resilience. I enjoyed investigating how a distribution network can be reconfigured in response to different operating conditions and learning how digital twins can help researchers evaluate and improve the reliability of critical infrastructure." Bishal Rijal, Grad PhD Technical Intern at Idaho National Laboratory, Electrical Engineering Ph.D. Candidate, Class of 2026

"The South Carolina Internship Program (SCIP) shows clear dedication by our university to providing students with every opportunity possible to focus on future career goals and professional development. Program
evaluations provided opportunities for feedback and personal reflection in addition to the hands-on career experience gained through the internship itself. SCIP gave me the means to focus on professional growth without additional financial stress." Victoria Brook, Spring 2026 SCIP Recipient, PharmD Candidate, Class of 2028
