The inaugural Freeman Parker Chamber Music Series opens Thursday, October 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the School of Music Recital Hall with The Terra String Quartet. Based in New York City, this acclaimed young ensemble blends artistry, storytelling, and multicultural perspectives, making every performance a conversation. Join the USC Symphony Orchestra as they continue their season with "Lincoln Portrait", featuring Allen Guelzo, one of the nation’s foremost scholars of Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War era, serving as narrator for Copland’s Lincoln Portrait. The program also showcases USC Professor of Saxophone Cliff Leaman as soloist in Eric Ewazen’s Concerto for Tenor Saxophone and Orchestra. Tuesday, October 27 in the Koger Center for the Arts.

USC Assistant Professor of Voice Dominic Armstrong takes center stage in Brahms’ rarely heard Die Schöne Magelone on October 27 at 4:30 p.m. in the USC School of Music Recital Hall. Joined by colleagues Joel Harder and Dietlinde Turban-Maazel, Armstrong performs all 15 songs from this deeply personal and rarely heard song cycle—woven together with Ludwig von Tieck’s medieval tale of love, adventure, and a princess named Magelone. Bring your family, a blanket or lawn chair, and get ready for an outdoor showing of Hocus Pocus at the USC Horseshoe this Friday, October 16th. This Alumni event begins at 6:45 pm; movie will start shortly after sunset around 7:15 pm.

The USC Symphony Orchestra's season continues on October 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Koger Center for the Arts.
