Since 2012, the Ohio Export Internship Program (OEIP) has connected students with Ohio companies to support global growth while creating valuable career opportunities.

For Fisher student Shuto Urabe, that opportunity became much more than an internship. Through OEIP, he helped Columbus-based Performance Results Plus research international markets, participated in distributor negotiations, attended a national industry conference, and ultimately landed a job with the company before his third year.

When Safa Mohamed (BSBA ’26) received the Robert E. Georges Senior Pace Setters Award, she saw an opportunity not just to celebrate her accomplishments, but to invest in a cause she cared deeply about.

Using scholarship funds from the award, Safa traveled to Brazil to volunteer at Sinal do Vale, where she contributed to reforestation efforts, fundraising initiatives and sustainability programs while learning from global leaders working at the forefront of environmental impact.

Her journey highlights the power of combining business skills with purpose and service.

From launching startups to underwriting real estate investments, Specialized Master in Finance (SMF) student Amani Kimball-McKavish (BSBA '25) is building the skills to lead.

After earning her undergraduate degree and finding success as a student entrepreneur, Amani enrolled in Fisher's SMF program to deepen her understanding of investing and business strategy. This summer, she put those lessons into practice as a real estate private equity analyst at Rockbridge, evaluating hospitality investments and sharpening her financial modeling expertise.

For Fisher student Lexy Payne, a summer tax internship with NetJets provided the opportunity to apply the accounting concepts she learned in the classroom to real business operations while exploring an industry she's passionate about. From preparing state and local tax returns to helping streamline a key tax process, Lexy gained firsthand experience solving business challenges and creating value for the organization.
