When it comes to options that we UNIVERSALLY recommend, it will most always be windows and/or skylights. If it's not in the budget, we always suggest people save up for a longer - they make that much of a difference.
There is nothing that adds the feeling of more space, especially to a loft, than a skylight. If you're going to be living that loft life, we really recommend adding skylights to the budget. Sunsets, sunrises, and stars galore. Mid-home skylights are also wonderful additions.
Even at our little dining table there, you'll see two variations of that area with our Kokosing builds. In The Bond here, you'll notice the window extends down to be flush-ish with the beautiful concrete table. In our other, less expensive Kokosing builds, we have windows that are quite a bit smaller. It saves on cost, of course, and for some the reduction in cost is worth it. But for most, you'll be much, much happier with as many windows as your home can safely allow (while maintaining its structural integrity, of course).
