CDME is partnering with America's Cutting Edge - ACE and Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation - IACMI to bring ACE's free, hands-on CNC machining and metrology training to Columbus. ⚙️

Supported by the Department of War's Office of Industrial Base Policy, CDME will host four-day hands-on bootcamps designed to provide participants with a practical foundation in CNC machining. Training will cover computer-aided manufacturing, machining parameter selection, tooling setup, work holding, probing and CNC controller use.

Attendees will work directly with CDME engineers and gain hands-on experience using the same industrial CNC machines, tooling and measurement equipment found in modern manufacturing facilities.

Advancing aerospace manufacturing ✈️

CDME is part of team developing innovative welding solutions for the GRX-810 alloy, helping address critical manufacturing challenges and enabling the components needed for future aerospace applications.

The heat and stress resistance of the alloy can make it difficult to join with traditional methods, as slow cooling from the usual methods can destroy the material. The project team is working to test methods to develop a welding technique to join the alloy together.

🍕 Learning is better with pizza!

Today, the CDME team came together for a Lunch and Learn featuring pizzas from a variety of local favorites and presentations from our student employees across all seven divisions.

Students shared their experiences, highlighted projects they’ve been working on, and gave us a glimpse into the incredible work happening throughout CDME. It was a great opportunity to learn from one another and connect across teams.

A big thank-you to all of our student presenters and everyone who helped make today's event a success! 👏
