A great resource for Ohio families with young children! 📚 Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library sends a free book to children from birth to age 5 every month.

Through a partnership with the American Printing House for the Blind, eligible children who are blind or have low vision can access books in Braille, print/Braille and audio formats.

A simple way to help more children discover the joy of reading! ❤️

Dolly Parton believed every child deserves the opportunity to fall in love with books—and that legacy continues in Ohio. 📚

Through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of Ohio, children from birth to age five can receive a free, age-appropriate book in the mail each month. And that love of reading can be shared in different ways!

Through a partnership with the American Printing House for the Blind (APH), accessible options are available for eligible children and families who are blind or have low vision, including print/Braille books through Braille Tales and downloadable audiobooks.

Ohio families can also choose a collection featuring books in both English and Spanish!

Dolly's generosity created more than a book program. It created opportunities for children and families, including those with disabilities, to read, learn, and imagine together, and that's a legacy worth celebrating. ❤️

Earlier this week, Governor Mike DeWine, Fran DeWine and members of Cabinet stopped by Ohio Deaf and Blind Education Services for a closer look at what makes our schools and students so unique.

The day started with breakfast prepared and served by OSD culinary students, followed by ASL lessons and a look at OSSB students’ Braille “Heart of It All” 3D prints. From there, Cabinet members spread out across campus to take part in activities ranging from cooking blindfolded at OSSB and cooking in ASL at OSD to workforce challenges and a Team Tressel challenge.

It was an opportunity to experience some of the strategies, tools and environments our students use every day — and to see firsthand the creativity, independence, collaboration, and skills they bring to the classroom and beyond.

Thank you to Governor DeWine and his Cabinet for spending the day with us, learning from our students and getting a closer look at Ohio Deaf and Blind Education Services. We were glad to have you on campus!
