What can happen when you take the initiative to connect with people in your future profession?

Franklin University students Hailey G. and Alyssa H. traveled to Las Vegas to attend CFP Connections 2026 after applying for the opportunity and being selected by Franklin.

Dr. Martina Peng, dean of the Ross College of Business, joined them at the conference, where students and professionals came together to share insights and explore the future of financial planning.

For Alyssa, conversations with financial advisors from firms of all sizes reinforced the value of learning directly from others in the profession.

“Financial planning is about investing in yourself so you can successfully invest for others,” she shared.

Hailey's advice to fellow students? Apply for scholarships, build connections and don't doubt yourself.

Last night, we celebrated our MBA and Continuing Education programs being named Best in central Ohio in the Columbus CEO Best of Business Awards.

As Franklin President Dr. David Decker shared:

As AI continues to reshape the future of work, how should higher education prepare students for what’s ahead?

That question was at the heart of today’s Presidential Panel on “AI and the Human Future of Work and Learning in Ohio,” where Franklin University President Dr. David Decker joined fellow Ohio higher education leaders to discuss the opportunities and challenges ahead.

Sponsored by the Association of Independent Colleges & Universities of Ohio (AICUO) and hosted by Ohio Dominican University, the panel brought together Dr. Decker, President Carmen Twillie Ambar of Oberlin College, and President Dr. Richanne C. Mankey of Defiance College to explore both the technical and human sides of AI.
