Some paths don’t make sense until you look back.

Today, Tizzie N. ’06 is the founder of The Spark Project, using her passion for safer schools to spark meaningful change.

But her journey started somewhere very different. From a confident high school senior with big plans to finding her way to Franklin after an unexpected change in direction, Tizzie’s story is a reminder that sometimes the next chapter looks nothing like the one you imagined.

And that’s okay. Sometimes, changing direction is exactly how you find your way forward.

We asked five Franklin graduates one simple question: What did Franklin make possible for you?

Their answers reminded us that there’s no single definition of what “possible” looks like.

Five graduates. Five stories. So many possibilities.

What has Franklin made possible for you? đź’™

Every journey has a story – and every chapter helps shape what comes next.

Idrees R. (’26) didn’t take a traditional path to his MBA. Along the way, he built a business, supported students through nonprofit work, and served his community through public service.

Each experience helped him grow as a leader and discover what he wanted to do next.

Through Franklin’s Earn & Learn Program, in partnership with the City of Columbus - City Hall, Idrees earned his MBA while continuing to make an impact in his career.

His journey is a reminder that growth happens one step at a time. Sometimes, the next thing you do can lead you exactly where you’re meant to be.

Chris C. spent nearly 30 years as a firefighter before earning his degree at Franklin University.

With a schedule that made traditional school impossible, online learning was the only way in. Once graduated, he didn't stop there. He built a partnership with Franklin to bring that same opportunity to his entire team.
That's the kind of impact a degree can have — not just one career, but an entire community.

One of those officers, Nick, graduated from Franklin this spring.

Congratulations to Chris, Nick, and every first responder investing in their future. 👏
