The Federalist Society at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law Debate. Discuss. Decide. The purpose of The Society is to promote an awareness of these principles and to further their application through its activities.

The Federalist Society at The Ohio State University is an organization interested in free thought and debate on the current state of the legal order. The Society is founded on the principles that the state exists to preserve freedom, that the separation of governmental powers is central to the Constitution of the United States of America, and that it is emphatically the province and duty of the ju

diciary to say what the law is—not what it should be. This requires restoring the recognition of the importance of norms that place a premium on individual liberty, traditional values, and the rule of law among law students, professors, lawyers, and judges. In working to achieve these goals, The Society will work to create an intellectual network that extends to all levels of the legal community. The Federalist Society at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law honors, respects, and supports the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Ohio.
