Innovation happens when we work together!

The Ohio State University colleges of Public Health Medicine just launched a seed grant program to encourage research partnerships between faculty in both disciplines.

This program will award three grants to help faculty explore new research directions, build partnerships and lay the groundwork for future funding.

There’s still time to register for our Oct. 26 Changing the Conversation Dean's Lecture Series event about the realities of abortion access in the United States featuring Diana Greene Foster, a MacArthur Fellow and professor at the University of California, San Francisco who studies the causes and consequences of unwanted pregnancy.

Following her talk, Foster will be joined by a panel of experts for a discussion led by College of Public Health Professor Alison Norris, an internationally recognized abortion researcher.

Panelists include Assistant Professor Dana Howard from the Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Ohio State University College of Arts and Sciences, and Mark Spindelman, the Heck-Faust Memorial Chair in Constitutional Law at the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.

The College of Public Health invites MacArthur Fellow Diana Greene Foster and a panel of experts to discuss the realities of abortion care access.

Congratulations to CPH alum Emanuel Tewolde '25 BSPH on winning Best Oral Presentation at American Cancer Society’s Center for Innovation in Cancer Research Training Annual Meeting in Atlanta!

Tewolde is an American Cancer Society Post-Baccalaureate Research Fellow and was one of six presenters chosen from 100 trainees. Tewolde's presentation was focused on epigenetic aging reversal among African Americans who smoke menthol ci******es.

Is everyone entitled to a fair process before being forced out of their home?

The state of Michigan says “yes,” but the reality is often very different and the consequences are severe, wrote Associate Professor Shawnita Sealy-Jefferson in The Conversation.

Detroit had 20,370 eviction cases filed in 2025. But evictions that do not go through the formal court process are not included in the city’s official eviction data.

Although ni****ne pouches are advertised as less risky than smoking, that does not mean they are safe, experts say.

"Young brains are still developing and younger people are especially at risk of developing a strong ni****ne addiction,” says Associate Professor Brittney Keller-Hamilton, who holds a courtesy faculty appointment at the College of Public Health.
