The university flag is at half-staff today in memory of Sened Gebrehiwet, a second-year student who passed away on September 2.

Our thoughts are with all those affected by this loss.

Students who need support may speak with an East Texas A&M University counselor 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by calling 903-886-5145. Students may also connect with a licensed counselor at any time through the TELUS Health Student Support App.

Faculty and staff may access confidential support through the university’s Employee Assistance Program.

University Responds to Student Medical Incident

The East Texas A&M University Police Department responded to a medical incident involving a student on campus. Emergency medical personnel evaluated the student, who was subsequently transported to a local medical facility.

To protect the student’s privacy, no additional information will be released at this time.

We know incidents like this can be difficult for members of our Lion family.

Students who need support are encouraged to contact the East Texas A&M University Counseling Center at 903.886.5145. Crisis counseling is available by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Counseling Center is located in Halladay Student Services, Room 203.
