Located in small town, Commerce, Texas, we are about 60 miles Northeast of Dallas. East Texas A&M University has one of the top agricultural programs in Texas.

This gives us the perfect location for our university farm, equine facility, greenhouse facilities, artificial wetlands, and native prairie restoration site. We offer many different majors in the field of agriculture. We offer a top-notch Animal Science program that prepares students for careers in the livestock industry, veterinary medicine, and the equine industry. A large percentage of our gra

duates are accepted into veterinary schools across the nation. We also recognize the need for high school agriculture teachers who will help educate the next generation. Thus, we offer the strongest agriculture and family education curriculum in this part of the country. We also offer hands on opportunities to explore many subjects such as horticulture, wildlife, and livestock management. Through your experience at ETAMU, you will be working with world class professors who perform research in many different areas. There are also numerous research opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students. Our first-ever Welcome Back AGstravaganza was one for the books! From the showdeo and live music to co****le, roping, good food and even better company, we loved getting our College of Agriculture students together to celebrate the start of a new semester.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this night happen! From our faculty, staff, student organizations, rodeo team, Brett Boatman Music, volunteers and everyone working behind the scenes—your hard work, time and energy made AGstravaganza possible. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Join us THIS THURSDAY at The Spur Expo for an evening made just for our College of Agriculture students! Come hang out, meet fellow ag students, and start the year off strong with a showdeo (a little show + a little rodeo!), live music, FREE burgers and hotdogs while supplies last, roping dummies, co****le, and more!

🏆🐴 WORLD CHAMPION! 🐴🏆

The College of Agriculture is proud to celebrate Florence Bryant, one of our master’s students, on an incredible accomplishment in the show ring!

Florence and her horse, Laziness, recently earned the title of NSBA Heroes On Horses Walk Jog Western Pleasure World Champion at the NSBA World Championship Show in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

From the classroom to the arena, Florence represents the dedication, horsemanship and passion for the equine industry that make our agriculture students so special. We’re proud to have her as part of the East Texas A&M family and excited to celebrate this well-earned achievement!

Congratulations, Florence, on becoming a World Champion! 🏆🦁🐴

Payton John Swinson - BS Animal Science ’19, MS Agricultural Sciences ’21

Payton is a Relationship Manager with Texas Farm Credit, partnering with agricultural producers to create sustainable financial solutions for farms and ranches. A former Ag Ambassador and Livestock Judging Team member, he continues to give back through university service while supporting the future of agriculture.

Tyler Dewey, BS Agriculture ’06

Tyler Dewey serves as Associate Director of Cattle Sales for Merck Animal Health, where he leads sales strategy and supports cattle operations across the industry. A former Livestock Judging Team member, he has built a career spanning higher education and animal health leadership, driven by innovation, relationships, and a passion for agriculture.

Earlier this week, some of the foremost experts regarding the New World screwworm met with area producers and community members at 's Spur Expo to discuss preparedness, response strategies and important information regarding the parasite that was recently rediscovered in Texas.
