After starting with a simple bagging system and public varieties, the seed industry has undergone immense changes. His son, Rex Powell, joined the business after graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Agricultural Economics. Grandson Roger Powell came on board the operation ful

🌽 The people behind a great Field Day.

We could talk all day about plots, hybrids, weather, and what we're seeing in the fields, but one of our favorite parts of Field Day has always been getting everyone together.

Good conversations, familiar faces, new connections, plenty of food, a little learning, and a chance to enjoy the farming community we're fortunate to be part of.
Here are just a few of our favorite moments from this year's Powell Seeds Field Day. πŸ“Έ

To everyone who came out and spent the day with us, thank you. Your continued support and trust are what allow us to keep doing what we love year after year.

🌱 Another Field Day in the books, and another reminder that agriculture is about a whole lot more than what's growing in the field.
Until next year! 🚜🌽

🌽 Another Powell Seeds Field Day in the books!
What a day.

Thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to join us for this year's Field Day & Open House. From walking the plots and talking crops to sharing lunch, hearing from Chuck Lofton, and simply catching up with familiar faces, this day is always about more than what's growing in the field.
It's about the people and relationships that make agriculture and Powell Seeds what it is.

We're incredibly grateful for the growers, families, industry partners, and friends who continue to support us year after year. We never take that trust for granted.
And if you couldn't make it this year, here's a little look at what you missed. πŸŽ₯
🚜 Thank you for another great Field Day. We'll see you next year!

🌽 Farming is localβ€”and the people you trust should be, too.

Every growing season brings new challenges. Weather changes. Markets change. Conditions can vary from one township to the next. That's why local experience still matters.

Working with someone who understands your soils, your weather patterns, and the challenges unique to your area can make all the difference when it's time to make important decisions.

At Powell Seeds, we've always believed farming is built on relationships just as much as it is seed. We're grateful for the growers who have trusted us through changing seasons, changing markets, and changing generations.

Thank you for continuing to put your trust in Powell Seeds. We don't take that responsibility lightly.

🚜 What's one piece of advice you've received from a local farmer or agronomist that has stuck with you over the years?

08/20/2026

🌽 The best harvests are built long before the combine enters the field.

As the season winds down, now is a great time to start paying attention to what's workingβ€”and what isn't.

Which hybrids handled stress the best? Were there areas with disease pressure? Did certain fields perform differently than expected? The answers to those questions can be some of the most valuable information you take into next season.

Good notes don't just help you remember what happened. They help you make more informed decisions when it's time to select seed, plan fertility, and prepare for another growing season.

Every season is an opportunity to learn.

πŸ“ What lessons has this year's crop already taught you?

Quality doesn't happen by chance.

It's built into every step of the process.

Before a bag of seed ever reaches your planter, time and attention have gone into preparing it for the season ahead. It's work that often goes unseen, but it's a vital part of helping growers start the year with confidence.

At Powell Seeds, we're committed to getting the details rightβ€”because we know they matter.

🌽 Before planting season begins, there's a lot of work happening behind the scenes.

Every load that leaves Powell Seeds represents more than just seed. It represents planning, preparation, and a commitment to helping growers start the season with confidence.

Long before the first planter rolls, we're working to make sure everything is ready when you are.

Thank you for trusting Powell Seeds to be part of another growing season.

🌽 Some things are worth keeping.

While names in the seed industry have changed over the years, our commitment to serving local growers hasn't.

At Powell Seeds, we've built our reputation one season, one field, and one relationship at a time.

We're proud of where we've been, grateful for the growers who trust us today, and excited for the seasons ahead.

Here's to continuing to plant the seeds of success.

🌽 Every field has its own story.

Even neighboring fields can perform very differently throughout the growing season. Soil type, drainage, fertility, previous crop history, and countless other factors all play a role in how a crop develops.

That's why the best management decisions aren't based on treating every acre the sameβ€”they're based on understanding what each field needs.

Taking the time to learn the strengths and challenges of every field can help you make more informed decisions, protect yield potential, and get the most from every acre you farm.

At Powell Seeds, we believe local knowledge and paying attention to the details still make a difference.

🚜 What's the biggest difference you see from one field to the next on your operation?
