The Burroughs & Chapin Center for Marine and Wetland Studies was established by the Horry County Higher Education Commission to facilitate basic and applied research within the College of Natural and Applied Science at Coastal Carolina University. Through development of techniques, acquisition of state of the art instrumentation, and decades of experience studying coastal, wetland, and marine systems, the Center has established itself as a leader in the field in the state of South Carolina and beyond.
