College of Business at Tennessee Tech University

College of Business at Tennessee Tech University The official Facebook account for TN Tech College of Business. Our MBA and Master's of Accountancy programs are offered on-line.

The College of Business offers a number of majors and concentrations and certificates the undergraduate and graduate level. Our faculty have a strong teaching orientation as well as an applied research focus that contributes significantly to the richness of student learning. The college's undergraduate, MBA, and accounting programs are each accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Ad

vance Collegiate Schools of Business. While other accrediting agencies exist, AACSB is the highest credential available to business schools. Originated in 1915, AACSB's founding members included Columbia University, Harvard University, Northwestern University, The Ohio State University, and 13 other institutions. Among approximately 2500 business programs world-wide today, only about 30% are AACSB accredited, and less than 10% have all three degree programs accredited. In addition to the traditional educational focus, the college has a number of centers that focus on transferring technology and knowledge to the business world. Faculty, staff, and students use their expertise to work with both individuals and corporations through these various outreach efforts.

Great news from the College of Business! Our Level Up Program just won the Pathways Distinguished Program Award at the 2026 Suitable.co Pathways Conference, its second national award in two years after winning Outstanding New Program last year.

Congratulations to Dr. Chelsea Dowell, Emma Tolley, Sherrie Cannon, and Julie Galloway, who presented on how students grow through this program and build the skills that prepare them for their careers. So proud of the work happening here for our students!

What a privilege to count Brian Otuonye as a member of our College of Business community. As his family so perfectly put it, "He never met a stranger. He found ways to use his natural charisma for good, supporting his family, friends and causes he cared about. Brian encouraged everyone he knew to figure out what they wanted and to go after it with everything that they had. He loved to laugh, and his energy brought life to any room."

We're honored to see his legacy living on through a new scholarship for future TN Tech finance students.

Congratulations to Dr. Chelsea Dowell, the first recipient of the Thomas and Judith Iovino Endowed Professorship at Tennessee Tech's College of Business!

This new professorship, made possible by a generous gift from Thomas and Judith Iovino, will support excellent classroom teaching for generations of Tech students to come.

Dr. Dowell puts students first in everything she does. She founded the student-led Journal for Societal Impact, has taken students to conferences and competitions across the country, and teaches hands-on financial literacy to children throughout the Upper Cumberland.

Congratulations, Dr. Dowell! Our students are lucky to have you.

The College of Business is hiring an Executive Assistant to the Dean.

This person will be the steady hand behind the scenes, supporting the Dean's office, helping coordinate events like graduation and the faculty retreat, and making sure things run smoothly for our students, faculty, and visitors.

A Cookeville family with deep TN Tech roots has made a meaningful gift to support College of Business students.

Thomas Lynn, a two-time Tech graduate and Board of Trustees member, along with his wife Kay, his sister Pam Coonce, and her husband Dr. Danny Coonce, have established the Tommy Lynn Professional Readiness and Leadership Room in Johnson Hall and an endowment to sustain PRL programs for years to come.

The PRL helps students build the real-world skills they need to land jobs and succeed in their careers.

"We felt like this was a good way to help a lot of students in a very practical way," said Kay Lynn.

One month ago today, we celebrated some of our best and brightest before they walked across the stage.

Every semester, the College of Business hosts a graduation reception and coin ceremony before commencement to recognize students who went above and beyond during their time here. This year's group made us incredibly proud.

A special congratulations to Mady Ray, this year's College of Business Hall of Fame recipient.

To the families who cheered them on every step of the way: thank you. These students wouldn't be where they are without you.
