Please join the ARCC Visual Arts Department in welcoming Guest Artists Zoë Powell and Mitch Iburg for a full-day presentation and demonstration workshop. They will be demonstrating techniques used in their studio and highlighting how they use and process local harvested clays. This event is free and open to the public — drop-in anytime during the event!

About the Artists: Zoë and Mitch own and operate Studio Alluvium, a showroom and workspace offering classes on responsibly harvesting and processing raw clay minerals for use in the ceramic studio. Zoë’s hand-built sculptural vessels of intersecting volumes are conceptually driven by biological systems and emotive experiences enacting a tensity, merging interior and exterior realms. Mitch’s work echoes shifting geological forces manifesting as stratified sculptural pillars, large muted wall tiles, and functional forms that embrace and challenge conventional ceramic traditions.

“The warm feeling that "Sunburst" evokes is exactly what inspired the floral arrangement my parents and I decided to create. The beautifully delicate characteristics of the yellow flowers mirror the fragility of the suspended glass arrangement.” - Esther Stoy, John Stoy, and Suzanne Stoy
