The FIT Program aims to provide students with the resources and knowledge to help them work toward financial independence in college, in their careers, and in the future. It consists of six interactive, one-hour sessions that will cover different aspects of real-world finance.

OUR RECOMMENDATION: Register for a full schedule and then leverage swap. This is the ultimate way to be !
WHY?
(a) Enrollment impacts billing and aid. If you are not enrolled full-time, you will not be billed full-time and you may see some of your aid be removed if it requires full-time enrollment.
(b) This will ensure you have a viable schedule of courses that will count toward your requirements and allow you to make progress toward your degree.
WHY NOT JUST WAIT?
Because your bill/aid could be impacted and there are no guarantees you will get a seat in your preferred course, time, instructor, etc. By registering for a full schedule and leveraging the swap feature, you will prevent issues and ensure you at least have a schedule that will keep you on track for graduation.

ATTENTION NEW STUDENTS … DUE TODAY!
It’s the last chance for NEW STUDENTS for Fall 2023 to be because they have until 11:59 PM EST this evening to submit their ’Cane Card ID photo via our online portal.
New students who are matriculated and have a UM email address would have received the notice to their UM email address to upload their image.

IMPORTANT: It is critical students submitting images today strictly adhere to the photo submission guidelines to ensure the photo will be approved. The last round of approvals will happen after the deadline so there will be no opportunity to submit a corrected image at that time.

WHAT THEN? Students who do not submit an acceptable photo by 11:59 PM EST tonight will need to take their picture when they arrive, wait for the card to be printed, and wait for the card to be encoded.

NOW WHAT? Submit your image today if you haven’t already done so and beat the lines when you arrive!

All domestic students, new and continuing, who have their own, outside health insurance and intend to waive the University’s student health insurance plan must do so each new academic year.

If you need to waive the University’s student health insurance for the 2023-2024 academic year but have not yet done so, please visit the student health website at https://www.studenthealth.studentaffairs.miami.edu/insurance-information/domestic-students/index.html as soon as possible to complete the waiver process.

NOTE: It can take up to 5 business days to receive a response on your waiver request and, once approved, it can take up to an additional 5 business days for the waiver to appear on your bill. The extended deadline for waiver requests is Monday, July 31st.

Bills are being generated this week so you will gradually see tuition, fees, housing, dining, financial aid, etc. appear over the next few days.

Everything should show on your initial bill when it is released on Monday, 7/17/23, so keep an eye out for the bill release email.

Review the timeline so you understand when bills are due and check out your payment options so you are prepared for next week.

If so, be sure to send your final transcripts to the proper address at UM once your grades are posted.

Once received, the UM enrollment operations team will enter your courses into CaneLink so they can appear on your UM record.

Touch base with your summer institution to learn how to send your transcripts so you are when the time comes.
