It’s Philanthropy week on campus and the undergraduates are hard at work raising money for Big Dog Ranch Rescue.

Big Dog Ranch Rescue's mission is to Rescue, Rehabilitate and Educate until every dog has a loving and safe place to call home.

Another successful Homecoming Week at The U!

The weekend capped off with some alumni enjoying some time on the field, with alum, current advisor and Iron Arrow Chair, Joey Bonner, joining the team in the tunnel and an OT Canes Win!

Calling all South Florida Alumni!

The Eta Beta Chapter along with the Eta Gamma Chapter at FIU, have begun the process of creating a Beta Theta Pi South Florida Alumni Association.

This alumni association would be for all Beta alumni in the South Florida region and would host monthly/bi-monthly networking events, social events, and more in order to continue our brotherhood past graduation.

In order for the process to continue, alumni living in the South Florida region are needed to help progress the association and have it meet the standards set by the General Fraternity.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of current undergraduate brother Daniel Perez, '24. Though we are deeply saddened by the loss of a dear friend, brother, and son, his memory will live strong. Daniel was an avid fan of professional soccer, Formula 1 racing, and the Florida Panthers hockey team. Everywhere he went, Daniel held a captivating smile and shared an infectious laugh, brightening the lives of those around him. To honor the loss of Daniel, we ask that you might visit the GoFundMe page linked below to support the Perez Family with funeral costs and other expenses as they traverse through this challenging time. It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Eta Beta alumnus, Dennis MacFarlane ‘17. Dennis was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme in June 2022 and after months of a hard fought battle and further complications, Dennis passed this week peacefully and surrounded by his loved ones. We send our deepest condolences to his family, his fiancé and all those who had the pleasure of getting to know him. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be sent to the Glioblastoma Research Foundation and UM Sylvester Cancer Center in his honor.

May you rest in peace Dennis.

It's Philanthropy Week for the Beta Theta Pi - University of Miami undergraduate brothers and this semester they have set a goal of raising $20,000 for the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation. The CBTF provides funds to research a cure for brain and spinal cord tumors. In addition to funding research, CBTF leads the nation in quality of life programs for families impacted, including mentorship programs, scholarship funds and retreats.

To our brothers, friends of Beta and family we take this time to humbly ask you to support one of our very own.

After going to the hospital for a headache on June 12th, an MRI revealed that Eta Beta alumnus Dennis McFarlane ('17) had a tumor that required an emergency craniotomy to remove and post-surgery was confirmed to be a Glioblastoma, a rare brain cancer.

Dennis who lives in Bonita Springs is currently in the 5th of 6 weeks of treatment at Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa, FL to help fight the cancer cells. We ask if you are willing and able to please consider donating to help Dennis and his family at the GoFundMe link below created by his aunt.

We stand with Dennis in this difficult time as he continues his fight against cancer and with all of those who continue to fight every day.

Congratulations to Beta Theta Pi - University of Miami alumnus David Steeb ('09) on his new role as the Founding Dean of the College of Global Population Health at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis!

David starts his new role on March 1st and will help lead the charge in training health leaders and serving communities near and far to create a more equitable future for all.
