Forty years later, a new group of student leaders at UM came together to form a new kind of greek organization, and the Alpha Chi chapter of Pi Kappa Phi was reborn in 2009. United in ambition and perseverance, Pi Kappa Phi Alpha Chi is rooted in our history and dedicated to reclaiming the esteem and notoriety of those who preceded us. In we displayed our abilities by acquiring our fraternity hou
se in 2009, renovating it and beating out several other well-established fraternities for the spot. PiKapp has already proven to be a dominant force in interfraternity competition and sports. We have twice won the IFC Presidents Cup, the yearly award consummating all fraternity athletic events. Our Philanthropy, The Ability Experience, is a nonprofit organization that serves people with disabilities. The Ability Experience was founded in 1977 as the national philanthropy of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity with the purpose of instilling lifelong service in its members and enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities. Although the organization is still fulfilling the purpose for which it was intended, The Ability Experience has grown into a nationally recognized nonprofit with numerous programs educating undergraduates, alumni and communities about the abilities of people with disabilities. Pi Kappa Phi at The University of Miami is still considered a relatively young Fraternity that has accomplished a lot so far. Despite what we have already accomplished, we still want much more for our chapter and our community.
