Sigma Chi at the University of Miami The Gamma Phi chapter of Sigma Chi was founded at the University of Miami in 1942 and has been actively on campus for over 75 consecutive years!

The Gamma Phi chapter of Sigma Chi was founded in 1942 and has been actively involved on UM's campus for over 75 consecutive years. Recently presented with the award for the Most Improved Chapter within IFC, Sigma Chi supports The Children’s Miracle Network and The Taylor Emmons Scholarship Foundation. Above all, the Gamma Phi Chapter of Sigma Chi is the proud owner of Touchdown Tommy, the historic cannon fired off every time the Hurricanes Football team scores.
