International Law Society at the University of Miami The International Law Society unites all students with interested international law, helping them further their career goals in this exciting legal area.

The International Law Society is a member of the National International Law Students Association. The International Law Students Association is a non-profit association of students and lawyers who are dedicated to the promotion of international law. ILSA provides students with opportunities to study, research, and network in the international legal arena. The organization's activities include acad

emic conferences, publications, the global coordination of student organizations, and the administration of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. The Miami chapter acts as a liaison between students and professionals interested in international law. Also, it sponsors speakers and public discussions on various aspects of public and private international law and international relations. The purpose of the International Law Society shall be to recognize and encourage scholastic excellence, provide service to the college and community, provide opportunities to develop leadership skills and the spirit of goodwill among its member in the context of furthering opportunities to learn and experience issues in the study of international law.

Humans of HOPE: Logan Sandler is spending his 2L summer as a Summer Public Interest Fellow working with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida as well as working with the Cuban American Bar Association's Pro Bono Legal Services on Asylum and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status cases. “The HOPE Summer Public Interest Fellowship program has afforded me the opportunity to follow my dreams of effectuating change through legal work. Each day on the job, I fight for social justice. Because of this experience, I now have a real-life understanding of how that legal fight in certain areas of law can be fought.”

Shout out to more pioneers in international legal practice! 🙌🌎⚖️

Posted • .international.moot.court How did you spend your Sunday night before Memorial Day?

After working all through the weekend, yesterday evening, the — made up of Belen Villavicencio, Anna-Lena Simon, and Natalie Robinson Whitacre — submitted their final briefs to Murdoch University in Australia! 🙌🤩 Like most competitions, the substituted its oral finals with written memorials following the pandemic. Undeterred, the team jumped at the opportunity and continued working hard well after classes officially ended to give a good showing! We couldn't be more proud and grateful for their dedication! 💪

We'd also like to give a shout out to alums Nadia Zorba and Eftihios Andronis for lending their invaluable wisdom, experience, and coaching techniques throughout the process!
