The community ownership field is at a critical inflection point. With over 300 grassroots organizations holding ~$10B in assets, the field remains fragmented — with capital stacks that are improvised and difficult to replicate.

In partnership with Bridgespan Group, UM's Community Ownership Learning & Action (COLA) Lab released a first-of-its-kind feasibility study and hosted a webinar to answer the question: "How can financial aggregation unlock the capital community ownership needs to scale — without sacrificing community control?"
