The Costa Mesa Historical Society and Orange Coast College on Sunday will mark 25 years since the 9/11 attacks with a free speakers event on the college campus at 2 p.m.

Angie Kardashian — a former Orange County restaurant owner who spent two years cooking meals for 103 New York City fire companies after the cataclysmic events — will share her story of forming lifelong friendships amid a national tragedy and continuing to speak to others about lessons she learned.

Orange Coast College will confer approximately 6,000 associate degrees and certificates of achievement to some 2,942 graduates at today's 78th Commencement ceremony. 🎓 👏

Several thousand are expected to attend the program at the Pacific Amphitheatre in the OC Fair and Event Center.

Last week, the Orange Coast College Foundation formally inducted Fire Chief Dan Stefano into the OCC Alumni Hall of Fame.

Chief Stefano was selected as the 2026 inductee in recognition of his outstanding leadership, distinguished career in public service, and unwavering commitment to the community.

An OCC alumnus, Chief Stefano earned his Associate Degree in General Education here at Orange Coast College, building a strong foundation for his ongoing studies and inspiring professional journey.

Over his three-decade career, Chief Stefano has advanced through every rank in the fire service, ultimately serving as Fire Chief for the City of Costa Mesa. His story is a testament to the values of leadership, integrity, and dedication to public safety we cherish at OCC. Congratulations to Chief Dan Stefano!
