This October 10th at 11:00AM, join us at Titan Stadium for a Reiver Football matchup against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. At this game, we'll be honoring the 1978-80 Women's Basketball and Softball rosters for their Title IX accomplishments.

If you belonged to either of these teams, please contact Derrick Johnson to confirm your attendance and help us connect with the remainder of your teammates.

This week, we shine a spotlight on Mayor of Henderson, Iowa, and Iowa Western alum, Eva Fipps.

Eva is a trailblazer in her own right. After graduating from Iowa Western while dual-enrolled at Treynor High School, a spontaneous decision led her to run for office and be elected as the youngest female mayor in the history of the United States. Her passion for helping others and commitment to Henderson’s growth made her a clear choice, winning the election 31-19.

Despite the groundbreaking achievement, Fipps has remained a humble leader of her community. At only 20 years old, she’s the representative for Mills County, serving as the voice of these residents with a mission to revitalize the area. She continues to credit Iowa Western for the different opportunities that helped grow her into the leader she is today.

Hello everyone! My name is Derrick Johnson, and I am the new Alumni & Community Relations Coordinator here at IWCC. I’m extremely excited to get started in this role, and strengthen my connection with Iowa Western and the community I was born and raised in. As an alum myself, it’s important to me that the talent this area produces is given the recognition they deserve. I’m honored to step into a role where that is the mission.
