- Congrats to Wildcat Cross Country athlete Angeles Feliciano who was named an WSC Athlete of the Month!
"Women's Cross Country - West LA freshman Angeles Feliciano has burst on to the cross country scene and has found her name atop the leaderboard early. In her first race, she finished ninth at the Crush Invitational/State Meet Preview, finishing the 5,000-meter course in 19:06.1 as the top WSC finisher, nearly a minute faster than the next WSC competitor. She captured the WSC Preview title, again edging the runner-up by nearly 30 seconds before finishing second at the Golden West Central Park Classic in 19:04.1. She wrapped up September with a second-place finish at the Bakersfield Invitational, less than five seconds out of first place." - WesternStateConference

West LA Wildcats Place Third at Manny Bautista Invitational as Feliciano Breaks School Record

The West Los Angeles College women’s cross-country team delivered a strong performance at the Manny Bautista Invitational on Friday, October 9, at Naval Training Center Park in San Diego. Competing against a deep Southern California field, the Wildcats finished 3rd in the official team scoring with 162 points, trailing only Mt. SAC and host San Diego Mesa. Riverside City and San Bernardino Valley tied for 4th with 166 points each. The Lady Cats also beat topped Riverside, Cerritos and Canyons who are all ranked higher than West. In the current Southern California rankings, West LA sits 7th.

Individually, freshman Angeles Feliciano led the Wildcats with a sixth-place finish in a personal-best 18:38.7, a time that also broke the West LA school record. Her performance builds on a strong September that recently earned her Western State Conference Athlete of the Month honors. Teammate Kaylah Quiroz added another solid performance, placing 12th overall in a personal-best 19:16.0.

- This week, West LA College celebrated the launch of our inaugural LVN class and our long-standing partnership with Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles.

Special thanks to those in attendance to mark the moment including Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles Senior Vice President and Area Manager Lilit Zibari; representatives from the offices of U.S. Rep. Sydney Kamlager, State Sen. Lola Smallwood-Cuevas Lola Smallwood Cuevas and Assemblymember Isaac Bryan; Los Angeles Community College District Vice Chancellor Jim Lancaster, Ed.D. ; and Culver City Unified School District Superintendent of School Dr. Alfonso Jiménez, Ed.D.
