We would like to congratulate brother Andre Gonzales as he was honored as the Fraternity Man of the Year at the University of North Georgia. Andre is a senior student. Through his college career, he has been involved in 10 different campus organizations, three of which he served as president. He was involved as an ambassador, orientation leader, and served as a member of the University’s conduct committee. At the same time, Andre volunteers with three different non-profit organizations as he truly believes in giving back to his community. All of Andre’s campus effort only complements his academic career as he is a proud recipient of two competitive scholarships, the Goizueta scholarship and the McNair Scholarship. We wish our brother the best as he graduates and we thank him for the great example and legacy that he leaves behind. Kappa Sigma Fraternity

Kappa Sigma seeks to develop the social graces, the art of good living, the development of courtesy and kindness. Good manners, good taste, and good companionship are part of the training of every fraternity member.

The Rho Prime Chapter’s Pledge programs focus on leadership and professional development. Yesterday, our pledges and pledge educators participated in the Etiquette dinner that focuses on the proper etiquette to use while dining with an employer.

We are thankful to have been invited by the UNG Career Services and UNG Alumni Organization who organized this event. Additionally, a special appreciation to Enterprise Holdings for sponsoring the event that we hope to have every semester as part of our pledge program. Kappa Sigma Fraternity

Congratulations to brother Swope and Jones for completing the Norwegian Ruck March in Southern Indiana. The Ruck March is 18.6 miles that must be completed in less than 4.5 hours with a 25 pound ruck sack on. Both brothers were the only ones representing the University of North Georgia today and both passed the challenge. We are proud of both of you!

Kappa Sigma is setting the New Standard.

On Thursday October 12, Multicultural Student Affairs UNG and Kappa Sigma Rho Prime Chapter joined in paying tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society. We celebrated UNG’s cultural diversity by co-hosting a Cultural Expo with many displays and entertainment. The Cultural Expo had UNG students presenting different Latin American countries from 1PM-4PM at the Hoag Great Room. Our entrainment started at 2PM and featured a variety of traditional music, dancing, and fashion from the rich culture of Peru. Light refreshments were provided. Kappa Sigma Fraternity is setting the New Standard.

On Monday October 2nd, the Rho Prime Chapter of Kappa Sigma held a canned food drive for those affected by hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. In the current political climate, many Puerto Ricans have yet to receive help from federal and state agencies. Kappa Sigma Rho Prime chapter has a global mentality and took some initiative with a canned food drive. The canned food drive is part of a larger project called “Gator Games." This week is organized by Kappa Sigma in which sororities compete against each other to win the "Gator Games Award." Donating canned goods help each sorority accumulate points towards their final score. We collected a whopping 1,500 cans and non perishables! A group of brothers and pledges dropped off the canned goods to the drop- off location in North Georgia at the Gainesville Interactive College of Technology. The Rho Prime chapter is very proud of this collaborative effort. UNG - University of North Georgia Kappa Sigma Fraternity Kappa Sigma Georgia Interactive College Of Technology-Gainesville Campus

Kappa Sigma is setting the New Standard.

Brother Patterson (pictured second from the right) is working with a group called “Feeding the Future” which is running a food drive. Feeding the Future is accepting canned goods, non-perishable foods, and monetary donations to purchase kid friendly foods to help feed children in the community on the weekends. Brother Patterson is trying to help parents who may not be able to provide their kids with the proper nutrition to live a healthy childhood.

Not only is Feeding the Future raising food for the children in Lumpkin County, they are also trying to raise awareness to the community about the importance of getting children the appropriate/ necessary nutrition. At the same time, they are trying to show that kids are the future. Without a proper nutrition, children won’t be able to excel in their classrooms and reach their full potential. It all starts with making sure they all have necessary resources to function.

You can find “Feeding the Future” at the Hoag Patio on October 27 from 10AM to 1PM . Please stop by with your contribution to our community. Kappa Sigma Fraternity Kappa Sigma Georgia
