PCE offers non-credit programs, shares professional knowledge, and works as a partner with community leaders in educational efforts. The office also coordinates use of facilities and services by groups not affiliated with the institution. The University of North Georgia involves its faculty and staff and other professionals in diverse programs of professional and personal interest. It has a short course and seminar program on a regular basis, and program topics change frequently. Some programs are offered year-round, while others have a seasonal appeal. Interested persons may call the Office of Professional and Continuing Education to pre-register, request a bulletin, or to get further information about current offerings at 678-717-2377.

“We both had some hacks on our devices that put us on edge.”

Jackie Hogue and Pete Tamblyn attended Cybersecurity and Protecting Seniors with Dr. Bryson Payne and the CyberHawks through PEAKS, looking for practical guidance, and a little peace of mind.

“Being seniors, and how easily it is to get ripped off, the talk by the professor and the help from the CyberHawks afterwards was extremely well received. Thank you so much!”

Thank you, Jackie and Pete, for sharing your experience! We’re glad the class and the one-on-one help from the CyberHawks made a difference.

💻 Empowering our community through technology.

Kim Harris recently attended Cybersecurity and Protecting Seniors with Dr. Bryson Payne and the CyberHawks through the PEAKS program, and left with a fresh perspective on staying safe online.

"Older people are challenged sometimes by technology and it’s very eye-opening to think you know something about technology when you really don’t and this program kind of opened my eyes.

Your password should be better, there’s certain things you shouldn’t do and it was just a very well thought out class. The CyberHawks answered all my questions and Dr. Payne was very knowledgeable. I really enjoyed this class!”

Thank you, Kim, for sharing your experience! We’re glad the class made cybersecurity feel a little more understandable and approachable.
