The UNG String Band recently performed at the John C. Campbell Folk School Fall Festival. This event brings thousands of visitors to Brasstown, NC every year, and the String Band has become a regular presence. You can catch the String Band at Gold Rush this weekend! They will be on the main stage at 9:30 am on Sunday, October 18.

Danni Ingram ('21) recently published a review essay in the Journal of the American Musicological Society, which is the top journal in the field of musicology. The essay draws on ethnographic work she completed for her master's degree at Florida State University. Danni has also completed doctoral coursework at Yale University and plans to earn her PhD in ethnomusicology.

The UNG Woofer Quartet recently won 1st Prize in the Chamber Music Competition at the 23rd International Euphonium Tuba Festival that took place June 14-20 at Emory University. The event brings together nearly 170 musicians from around the world for concerts, master classes, and competitions. The group featured UNG music majors Briar Dalton, AJ Lee, and CJ Yaeger along with their friend and graduate from the University of Michigan, Tyler Johnson. The 3 UNG members are all juniors pursuing Bachelor of Music degrees at the Dahlonega campus. The Woofer Quartet has been part of numerous other competitions and events and was recently invited to perform at Spivey Hall in Atlanta as part of a youth concert series! The group receives primary coaching from UNG faculty member Michael Brown and additional instruction from Professor Adam Frey.

Inspired by the iconic Now That’s What I Call Music! albums, this exciting evening brings together a dynamic collection of choral favorites performed by the outstanding ensembles of the University of North Georgia. Join us on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 7:00 PM at Dahlonega Methodist Church for a concert packed with musical variety, energy, and unforgettable performances. Featuring the UNG University Singers, Chamber Choir, Patriot Choir, Le Belle Voci, and Combined Choirs, this concert is a “greatest hits” style showcase celebrating the power and beauty of choral music. From moving classics to crowd-pleasing favorites, there’s something for everyone. Come experience an evening of powerful voices, vibrant repertoire, and the joy of singing together!
