Inspired by the iconic Now That’s What I Call Music! albums, this exciting evening brings together a dynamic collection of choral favorites performed by the outstanding ensembles of the University of North Georgia. The Department of Music presents Voice Division Honors Recital. Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 7:30PM ~ Gloria Shott Performance Hall, Dahlonega Campus.



The University of North Georgia Voice Division is pleased to present an evening of song on Tuesday, April 21 at 7:30pm in the Gloria Shott Performance Hall on the UNG Dahlonega Campus. The evening will feature selections from art song, opera, musical theatre, and more, performed by students of the UNG Voice Division from across the Gainesville and Dahlonega Campuses. The performance is free and open to the public and all are welcome to attend. The UNG Wind Ensemble Presents “Happy Birthday America!”

Join the UNG Bands for an exciting semi-quincentennial (250th birthday) celebration of the United States. This concert will feature the UNG Wind Ensemble and students from the Lumpkin County High School Band. The selections include patriotic pieces such as America the Beautiful and George Washington Bicentennial March by John Philip Sousa. It will also include representative music of American culture, such as American Riversongs by Pierre LaPlante and Teal Fusion by Chris Evans Hass. The finale of the concert will be the official march of the United States, Stars and Stripes Forever, which will feature both bands and a special guest conductor well known to the UNG community!

The members of the Wind Ensemble are UNG undergraduates representing a wide variety of majors from the Gainesville and Dahlonega campuses. They are under the direction of Dr. J. Ashley Jarrell. Admission is free for this 2:00 PM concert which will take place on the Library Technology Center Patio on the Dahlonega Campus.

Atlanta-based superstar clogger Andy Howard visited the Music of Appalachia class to discuss the history of Appalachian percussive dance and teach some steps from the flatfoot, buck dance, and clogging traditions. We love to get students out of their seats and learning through doing!
