Last week, MCCB welcomed Alejandra Y. Castillo as our Cottrell Speaker! 🎤💙

During a fireside chat with Dean Rachel Clapp-Smith, Ms. Castillo shared lessons from her professional journey and encouraged students to become stronger leaders by staying curious, believing in themselves, and embracing every opportunity to learn. 💡

Her advice reminded us that great leadership isn't about having all the answers. It's about asking questions, staying open to new perspectives, and never stopping learning.

The Cottrell Speaker Series would like to present Alejandra Y. Castillo as this semester's guest speaker!

"Alejandra is a public policy practitioner and executive who has directed large-scale federal investment programs and led national organizations at the intersection of emerging technology, economic competitiveness, and workforce development."

Big turnout at the UNG Accounting & Information Systems Career Fair! 🎓

With 140+ students, 31 employers, and 80 professionals (including 52 UNG alumni) in attendance, students had plenty of opportunities to network, ask questions, and explore their next career steps.

Employers were impressed by our students’ preparation and engagement, and we’re proud to see our students putting their professional skills into action.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the event a success! 👏

Finance students had the chance to connect with professionals from 23 different companies at our Finance Networking Event! 💼✨

Students spent the morning introducing themselves, asking questions, learning about careers in finance, and building connections with professionals across a variety of industries. And of course, networking is always better with breakfast! ☕🥐🍓

We also caught up with finance sophomore Camila Aguilera, who shared what she enjoyed most about the event:

💬 “What I really liked about meeting with professionals from different companies is that it showed me the different industries of Finance. I had a conversation with people from credit unions, banking & investment, information technology, and even real estate, and it showed me there are different career paths you can go through.”

Events like this give our students the opportunity to take what they’re learning in the classroom and start building the connections and confidence they’ll carry into their careers. 🎓🤝

A big thank you to all the companies and professionals who took the time to connect with our students! 💙
