As we reflect on the AGLSP 2026 Annual Conference this past weekend, we're grateful for everyone who made it such a meaningful gathering.

Thank you to all who shared your research, engaged in thoughtful conversations, and contributed to a community defined by curiosity, generosity, and interdisciplinary exploration. One of the greatest highlights of the conference was connecting with colleagues and experiencing the richness of the liberal studies community. You helped make this year's conference one to remember and we look forward to continuing the conversation!

And we'd like to give a special thanks to SMU Human-Centered Interdisciplinary Studies, Meadows Museum, and SMU for hosting this remarkable event.

We kicked off AGLSP’s 2026 Annual Conference tonight in the stunning Meadows Museum at SMU in Dallas. We welcomed liberal studies scholars and program directors from across the country.

We celebrated our annual award winners too! SMU’s lead DLS and MLS clinical faculty, Mag Gabbert, won the 2026 AGLSP Faculty Award. Dionne Ross-Bacon, a Doctor of Liberal Studies student, has won the 2026 Confluence Award for Excellence in Interdisciplinary Writing. And SMU Liberal Studies student, Camille Kraeplin, won the 2026 Confluence Frederick Luis Aldama Excellence in Creative Writing Award for the essay entitled “Art & Memory: Reimagining My Brother.”

We ended the evening with a Creative Writing Spotlight featuring 8 scholars who shared their stories and poetry.

What a place, what a group, what a wonderful night!
