🚨 Big News: UNT Dallas is officially part of the Red River Athletic Conference! 🚨

We’re now the 13th member of the RRAC, with all NAIA-sponsored sports competing this season and eligible for postseason play and conference honors.

“This is a great step for our teams and our campus,” says Athletic Director & Men’s Basketball Coach Josh Howard. “We’re excited for new competition, fierce rivalries, and being part of a conference that shares our values—on and off the field.”

Recent cuts to state and federal nutrition programs have increased the importance of local food distributions like our monthly mobile pantry. In partnership with the North Texas Food Bank, we’re focusing the Friday, July 18 event on families facing “summer hunger,” when children lose access to school meals. With Texas now ranking #1 in food insecurity and programs like Summer EBT canceled, we expect a large turnout.

Volunteers are urgently needed to help sort and distribute food starting at 7:30 a.m.—please contact Joe Posada-Triana at [email protected] to sign up.

On behalf of the entire campus community, thank you for your outstanding service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of our university. While we are incredibly proud of the exciting new opportunity that awaits you, we are equally saddened to see you go.

Throughout your time with the police department, you have been more than a leader—you’ve been a mentor, a role model, and a true advocate for community connection. Your tireless work in public safety, your leadership in initiatives like National Night Out, and your personal investment in mentoring student leaders have left a lasting legacy.
