At Spring Commencement 2026, entrepreneur and education advocate Dr. Roland G. Parrish surprised graduates by announcing a $50,000 endowed scholarship gift through the Parrish Charitable Foundation. This scholarship is dedicated to supporting first-generation students and historically underserved communities across North Texas for generations to come.

Honored with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree, Parrish challenged the Class of 2026 to lead with focus, discipline, and humility while continuing to learn in a changing world.

“A Trailblazer clears a path so others can come behind them,” Parrish told graduates. “You are now upwardly mobile. You have set a foundation for economic prosperity.”

Jax had an amazing time at the Mayor’s Back to School Fair at City Hall! From meeting students and families to hanging out with fellow mascots from across the community, the energy was nonstop fun and excitement.
