A new semester means new faces, new goals and new chapters beginning at SMU ❤️💙

Last night, we welcomed our newest cohort of Bishop Scholars to campus as they begin their graduate studies. Created through a partnership between Simmons and Dallas ISD, the Kathryne and Gene Bishop Endowed Scholarship supports outstanding Dallas ISD educators pursuing master’s degrees while developing expertise that responds to the needs of schools and students across the district. The highly competitive program invests not only in the continued education of these teachers, but in the impact they will carry back into Dallas classrooms.

We’re excited to have these educators as part of the Simmons community and can’t wait to see what the year ahead brings. Welcome to Simmons, Bishop Scholars!

There's no shortage of opinions about young men in America. One perspective is often missing: their own.

Timothy Lindsey, an Advancing Evaluation in Philanthropy Fellow with our Center on Research and Evaluation, spent two years listening to young men in Dallas define what success really means to them. What he heard was hope, purpose and a deep sense of community.

Success measured not just by what they achieve, but by who they want to become.

We're proud to see Tim's research featured by the Walton Family Foundation. Read the full story here: https://www.waltonfamilyfoundation.org/stories/foundation/what-young-men-can-teach-us-about-postsecondary-success
