Come and join us for a 7-day Adventure in Cape Town, South Africa! Bakke Graduate University will host a student trip and immersion course to Cape Town, South Africa. The city will become our classroom!

7 days of educational and informational learning based on transformational leadership and examining the hand of God at work in the city, shared with global leaders from around the world.

Ray Bakke said, "Cities are the laboratory of God's mission in the world, not a problem to be solved". Join us as we explore the hand of God's work in this global, international city.

The course is part of a master's and doctoral curriculum and can be taken for credit or educational experience.

At the upcoming LOS ANGELES CITY IMMERSION from October 23 to November 1, 2026, we will get a first-hand look at the creativity and innovation that transformational leaders are implementing across one of the megacities of the world. We will visit with nonprofit and church leaders who are living out their Christian faith in meaningful ways as they reach the powerful and powerless with equal integrity. We will meet with business leaders who are utilizing business as mission as an extension of their faith in Jesus in the workplace.

Our professsor, Dr. Oladotun Reju wrote Before the West Worked to explore Africa’s ancient and enduring wisdom of work—and to ask what we have forgotten, what was disrupted, and what can still be recovered. For the author, this is more than a book about the past. It is an invitation to rethink work, dignity, and development, and to recover parts of the African story that have been obscured. A better-told African story is one of the tools we need to better understand our possibilities and construct the future we want.

Transformational Leadership Coach Certification!

Alumni Update from Krisztina Oláh:

In early August, I had the opportunity to participate in the very first Global Conference of the Society of Christian Scholars in Nairobi, Kenya. The 50+ participants represented 24 countries from 4 continents! The Society is rather a network than an organization; its goal is to support and equip Christian academicians at non-Christian universities and colleges. Some 2 years ago, I was introduced to them by Dr. Martine Audéoud, PhD Program Director at BGU. Martine connected me with another BGU professor, Dr. Osam Temple, who is in charge of the Society’s regions of Anglophone Africa and the Middle East. At that point, I had no idea what this connection would bring into my life and academic work.

Innovation is the lifeblood of thriving organizations regardless of the commodity, products, or services they provide. This course is designed to help students develop the skills and strategic discernment to build an organizational culture that will promote innovative ideas and trends at all organizational levels. The totality of course content makes the case that God continues to create and continues to invite us, through change, to co-create and innovate new values for others. It will explore where discovery, invention, and value creation intersect (or not) with God’s intentions.

INN 804 LEADING INNOVATION IN NONPROFITS with Dr. Pierre Soro

The mission focus of the nonprofit organization is critical to its willingness and ability to be innovative Nevertheless, nonprofits cannot grow without some commitment to innovation. It is the mission of a nonprofit that can facilitate innovation that has been shown to be a key mediating step in achieving

Bakke Graduate University has an amazing track record of equipping transformational leaders who do amazing things in cities and in various sectors of society around the world. We have always accomplished that level of impact on a modest budget. We are very nimble in how we operate because we innovatively deliver our training in a decentralized way with faculty, staff, and partners who are dispersed throughout many different parts of the urban world. While our degrees and certificate programs are affordable, and we offer significant discounts on tuition to many of our students, it is still a sacrifice for many of our students to pay the tuition and fees. I appreciate all the stories of perseverance and provision that I hear from our graduates at our commencement ceremonies. Our staff, contractors, and faculty love our mission at BGU, and they are committed to the cause of training more transformational leaders. God provides financially for our students as they navigate through our programs with great faith, and the Lord has provided financially for BGU as an organization through each season of our existence. We have been able to scale our global impact due to God’s provision. God’s favor is upon our students and on our university.

New certificate program!

This October, we are launching a new cohort of Teaching Theology of Work Graduate Certificate, developed in partnership with the Theology of Work Project — a credential built for people who are already doing the work of integrating faith and vocation, and now need the graduate-level standing to teach it formally.

The certificate is designed for seminary and Bible college faculty, denominational and mission-agency trainers, marketplace leaders, pastors building workplace ministries, and BGU alumni ready for their next credential. Over twelve months, a global cohort of 12–15 practitioners moves through a deliberate four-course arc — See It, Live It, Lead It, Multiply It — culminating in a capstone where each participant designs and teaches a contextualized Theology of Work curriculum for their own setting.
