We’re proud to share that Dr. Noralyn Pickens and Professor Charlene Dickinson have been inducted into the National Academies of Practice (NAP) — a prestigious honor recognizing leaders in healthcare committed to collaboration and accessible care.

Dr. Pickens, associate dean for Interprofessional Education and Strategic Initiatives, was named a Distinguished Scholar Fellow in the Occupational Therapy Academy. Professor Dickinson, dental hygiene program director, was named a Professional Member in the Oral Health Academy.

Both are trailblazers in interprofessional education at TWU, preparing students across disciplines to deliver holistic, team-based care.

Their leadership continues to shape the future of health education, from the classroom to community outreach events like Giving Kids a Smile.

🌍✈️ Just back from Guatemala!

Dr. Jodi Thomas and Dr. William Sit, along with nine amazing TWU students from PT, OT, and all three campuses, recently partnered with Hearts in Motion to provide therapy services to nearly 100 individuals in need.

From permanent clinics to pop-up care centers, this team brought compassion, expertise, and hands-on support to communities with limited access to physical and occupational therapy.

Dr. Thomas has been collaborating with Hearts in Motion since 2013. This marks her 4th trip leading TWU students on this impactful journey.
