MVC Theatre offers a unique educational experience to students through many venues and opportunities that will lead to a life-long love for the theatre. The productions and performance materials chosen reflect the rich diversity of our faculty, staff, and student body. MVC Theatre provides students the opportunity to acquire acting and technical skills that can be transferred to the stage, to a four-year institution, or to life. The curriculum includes Acting I, II,and III, Musical Theatre I & II, Voice for the Theatre, Theatre Practicum, Makeup, Theatre Appreciation and Film Appreciation. Performance opportunities include a main stage show each semester, The Actor’s Showcase in December and May, and The Rod Wilson 24-Hour Ten Minute Play Festival. Due to its small size, the department offers a nurturing environment that gives students close access to faculty, guest artists, and staff in classroom, rehearsal, research, workshop, and performance experiences. Through a well-rounded curriculum, students have the opportunity to develop skills in the ever-changing arena of the performing arts. It's CLOSING NIGHT at 7:30 pm on Dallas College's Mountain View Campus! One more chance to see what happens to all the little "JUNEBUGS" in the regional premiere of Corey Ranson's new drama of life on the streets in Big City, USA!

Free to the public and rated PG-13, audiences this week at MVC have generously donated to the Mountain View Food Pantry and "talked-back" with Dallas College counselors about un-sheltered students, food insecurity and substance abuse -it's been a good week for LIVE THEATRE at Dallas College

Where do you go to talk about the hard, the forbidden, the taboo subjects of 2026? Well, Dallas College students and professors as well as community members headed to the THEATRE for some TALK!

Last night the cast, crew and director of JUNEBUGS, the current MVC fall production, joined Dr. Catherine Sang, a Dallas College mental health counselor, onstage after the performance for an audience talk-back. Dr. Sang gave us all some much needed info from the DC Student Care Network on services that Dallas College offers for students struggling with substance abuse and homelessness issues.

JUNEBUGS by Corey Ranson, takes a "real life" look at eight un-housed characters and plays two more nights at 7:30 pm in the Mountain View Performance Hall. FREE to the public, there's no excuse for not having an entertaining AND thought-provoking night at the theatre!

It's the day of the show, y'all...and sometimes we just need a fix- a FIX of THEATRE! Join the cast and crew of JUNEBUGS, directed by Corey Ranson, on opening night, tonight at the Dallas College-Mountain View Campus Performance Hall. Performances are October 14-17 at 7:30 pm. FREE to the PUBLIC and rated PG-13, we will be collecting food donations before each performance and hosting an Audience Talk-Back on Thursday, October 15 led by Dr. Catherine Sang about homelessness and substance abuse solutions...be there for your FIX!

It's Final Dress...and the Hobo Chorus struggles to break free of all the beautiful? fences onstage: no food, no shelter, too many drugs. Come see the Dallas College-Mountain View Campus regional premiere of JUNEBUGS, directed by Corey Ranson, October 14-17 at 7:30 pm in the MVC Performance Hall. Free to the public...but we would LOVE for all audience members to make a food pantry donation as they walk into the theatre...the boxes are ready and empty, waiting for that jar of PB & J!

Join the "lunatic, the lover, and the poet" in tonight's closing performance of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM at the Dallas College-Mountain View Campus. Fun for the entire family, this 95-minute show begins at 7:45 pm on the east side of campus (enter Building E doors) where you will be guided to the beautiful Garden of Learning Fountain. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs, your pizza, your cold drinks...let us take care of the popcorn and the magic. As always, meet you tonight at the fountain!

Of course, those "revels" on a Friday night in Dallas include Shakespeare at the Mountain View Fountain's beautiful outdoor production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM tonight on the Dallas College-Mountain View Campus at 7:45 pm. Free show, free parking (east side of campus, enter E Building doors), free popcorn, free Forest Fairy Party at 7:30 pm...and even free bug spray! Meet you at the fountain!
